A note on some previous Oshi No Ko theories:
I never write these thinking that I am better or know more about the story than Akasaka-sensei himself. It's his story, he knows what he's doing, and I merely wanted to write these as an exercise of trying to understand or explore what he was trying to unravel for us.
Despite knowing that it was unlikely, I've written down the idea at least twice before that maybe Kana would be asked to switch out with Ruby during The 15 Year Lie, because of how overwhelming Ruby's schedule is, because of her lack of acting experience, or because at that time, it was still an unconfirmed theory that Aqua will end up playing Hikaru Kamiki.
And from that theory (which was correct), I was under the expectation that Akasaka-sensei would have never taken it as far as he did in the recent chapters.
While I was really happy that Ruby got to stay on (and this is genuine, she deserved to play Ai anyway; as Misa had pointed out to me before, she had whole chapters dedicated to her beating out the two best actresses of her generation for this part) and I really loved the chapters of her interaction with Kana, all of that is overshadowed by how disappointed and tired I feel from all the chapters after that.
I still have a lot of theories that were in drafts, that were just waiting for a little more input before I could put them out. But now they just live in my head.
It's been half a year since I last put one out there, I think. Since then, I've embarked on a journey to move countries and that really kept me occupied. But now that I have the time and energy to come back, I no longer fully trust that it is worth investing it in Oshi No Ko.
My standing theories from the past:
That Anemone might be the one to discover Yura's body
That "Oshi No Ko" is the title of a Director Shima film starring Arima Kana that will return her career to glory
That, ultimately, Aqua's plan will somehow fail or backfire, or he was wrong somewhere somehow about Kamiki
Some theories I've wanted to write, or have floated before:
Revisiting the Deities from Shinto Mythology, corrections to my original Arima Kana is the Sun theory (she still kind of is, but let's put a pin on that)
What if Airi was the one who initially sent Ryosuke to the hospital, not Kamiki? -> I've mentioned this before on Twitter
Ruby will still meet Marina Tendouji, and how her character arc resolves by her learning how to live for herself
