He knew that he should probably be out practicing but honestly, he needed a drink. There were too many thoughts in his head and not enough hours in the day to sort them out. The only time his mind was clear was when he was going over 100mph and trying to make sure he got past that finish line first.
Maybe that was his problem. Maybe he should slow down. But he'd never liked slow and he wasn't about to start now. He walked into the restaurant and straight to the bar. He ignored the few looks he got, some in recognition and other's in curiosity. He wasn't doing much to hide who was, just a hat and some sunglasses, but he just wanted to feel a bit normal for once. He ordered his drink with a smile that only fell when someone nudged him. He mentally braced for turning around to deal with whoever wanted his attention. "Yes?"
Kermit liked to think he was a pretty easy-going guy. He took life as it came and tried to roll with the punches. He was very slow to anger but easy to frustrate which is why he was doing everything to resist punching the vending machine that had stolen his money and left him without his chocolate. "You've gotta be kidding me." He wasn't able to resist kicking the damned thing even if his toes paid the price.
reading. beck should've figured. he rolled his eyes at logan as he huffed, "i have an idea." he stated as if it was simple to see. "i'm going back home and you're coming with me. sadie too." he stated as if it was a clear and perfect idea. "we're bringing back mom."
Logan stared at his brother for a moment. He should honestly be used to his ridiculous ideas. "that's an idea alright." Logan sighed. "And how are we getting home? Why are we going home?"
"I didn't just realize it but I've noticed it a lot more lately." His hands were held up in faux defense. Freddy was a skilled sleuth after all. He paid attention to details. However, when it came to his kid's love lives he usually stayed out of it unless advice was needed. "Very unique. Yeah, you're right. I'm glad he found someone who pushes him to be better. Okay, yeah, I'm not old but I'm not exactly careful with my life going head first into some of these mysteries." Freddy grabbed his husband's hand and gave it a quick squeeze. He never imagined all those days of flirting would lead him here. "After we regrouped I was. I was like the spawn of satan in high school. That's true. Stefan got put through the wringer. How could I not be when you were so affectionate and adorable. I didn't stand a damn chance, Shag."
"They've always been precious. Though, they are at a fun age now that they're figuring it all out." He chuckled at Freddy's reaction. Never one to look for an argument, he let it go. "Yes, and that's great. Stefan is a sweetheart. Maybe the Jones boys just need a lot of affection to behave. A fair point but I think I do enough to keep you in one piece." Shaggy had spent his youth chasing after Freddy dutifully. The blonde hadn't made it easy but he'd kept him alive. Shaggy's smile for his husband was fond and sweet as it had always been. He'd always been in love with him but it had taken a long time before he'd admitted it. "You really weren't that bad. You were just being a teenager and you were going through a lot. You were never mean to me. Quite literally from what I've heard. I had a little talk with Fox about being kinder. Freddy, it's just who I am. It's not my fault you absolutely melt at my touch."
All his life Jasper was crafted to be the perfect son his parents expected him to be. From hair down to even the shoes he wore, there was not a single misstep in the creation of Jasper Skellington’s image. the mold he was shoved into was tight. it never quite fit because Jasper knew he wasn’t what his parents wanted him to be. His dreams were too big and his head too high in the clouds. He was good, unlike his father and grandfather before him. Jasper Skellington was a good man who was pushed too far off the edge. Now here, years later, he laid in the wake of the mess he didn’t create. His life had been ripped at the seams and he had made peace with that terrible fact. It wasn’t until Donnie showed up Jasper believed he deserved something good in his life. He was to keep the uglier pieces of himself away from the light. No one could see his imperfections. Jasper cared so deeply what Donnie thought of him that he kept a wall between them when it came to this. the truth. the darkness that lay within him. he wouldn’t dare let Orion harm a hair on his head nor did he want him entangled in his mess. Here, he could pretend that he wasn’t some pile of broken bones desperately trying to reconnect. here, in the arms of this boy he loved he could believe he was whole.
He had no idea what Orion had planned. that’s what scared the skeleton the most. He was already coming back home in a confused, bloody mess. Jasper’s willpower seemed to vanish. replaced with an amulet he had no recollection of putting around his neck. Kindness was something given to him sparingly. any gestures that masqueraded as good deeds were often laced with ill intent. Most people got close to Jasper because of what he could give them not because of who he was. Donnie had been unpleasant at first but soon transformed into the sweetest creature Jasper had ever known. The skeleton didn’t believe he deserved such kindness despite wanting so desperately to stay in the warmth of Donnie’s love. “I do.” his voice was strained with emotions he couldn’t quite untangle. Jasper felt like that little boy who needed to be protected when he had been thrown to the wolves. he needed Donnie to know how thankful he was that he was here with him instead of leaving him to fend for himself as he always had; For not viewing him as a walking spectacle the way everyone had his entire life. he dared to let his eyes close for a moment as he felt Donnie’s lips against his skin. He wanted that. He wanted this. But jasper wouldn’t dare and drag Donnie down with him. “I appreciate that. Really, I do. all of this but I- I can’t ask that of you. I don’t want to put you in harm’s way.”
Donnie had become determined to know Jasper as best as he could. He was very much a stalker, he admitted it, and he spent his time analyzing his new obsession. Leo had already ripped into him about behind so weird about Jasper but Donnie couldn't find it in himself to really care. It had started off benign enough with Donnie wanting to know why Orion was obsessed with the guy and it had quickly spiraled into Donnie wanting to hide Jasper away from the rest of the world and that included Orion. He knew there was a lot Jasper kept hidden or tried to anyway but he saw right through him. Those blue eyes didn't hide a thing from him. It was easy to tug the other into his arms and out of his head. He enjoyed their time together and all the things that came with letting Jasper obsess over him. He wasn't dumb enough to say that he wasn't aware of how mush the other cared about him. You would have to be blind to not notice the looks they gave each other.
He didn't really know what to do in this situation though. He knew this was Orion messing with Jasper but he also knew the skeleton had to figure this out on his own. He had to stand up for himself and Donnie couldn't really provide much information. So he just coddled him instead and hoped that his care gave Jasper some comfort. He wanted to help as much as he could but that didn't mean he didn't worry. Though he pushed it all aside to get the tall man to melt into him. Donnie sighed softly as the other spoke and gave him a soft, kind smile. "Okay." He wouldn't argue with him now. "Jasper, you're not asking anything. I'm simply doing as I please, as I've always done." Donnie caressed his cheek before grabbing his chin to make the other look at him for what he had to say next. "I am capable of taking care of myself. I want to be here and take care of you. I don't care what you do outside of here. In this apartment, you are Jasper and I'm Donnie and we take care of each other. Got it?"

"And then we'll go through here with- Donnie are you listening to me?" If there was one thing the blue one hated, it was being ignored when he had something important to say. He loved his twin dearly but sometimes he wanted to wring his neck. Like now! Donnie was clearly off in La La Land and not listening to what he was saying. "Earth to Donnie. Helloooooooo." He waved his hand before his brother's eyes and realized they were glued to his phone screen. Leo glanced over to see what was taking his brother's attention. When he saw Donnie's phone screen Leo immediately frowned. "Be so fucking for real, Donatello." He sighed dramatically, pinching the bridge of his nose as he felt his Leo-chasm grow larger. "You'll see your stupid bone husband when you're home! Why are you staring at a photo of him! We have plans that need to be fleshed out."
"Huh, uh, yeah, we're gonna crawl through a vent or something." Donnie knew he should be listening but Leo went over plans a hundred times and it got a little monotonous for him. Donnie got it the first time so sue him for wandering into thoughts of his husband. He rolled his eyes and resisted pouting as his brother started his rant. "Okay, okay, relax. You just keep saying the same thing over and over again. It's not my husband is handsome and I get distracted by him. But fine, what do you wanna go over?"

half assed harebrained ideas where a specialty for beckham teague. especially after not sleeping for three days and going on a drinking binge. so, here he was sat on the couch in the siblings small shared apartment whiskey bottle in tow and idea almost fully planned out in his head... well planned out as far as getting back to hallow falls. "logan." he called from where he sat, bags hung under his eyes, "logan!" he shouted from the couch before getting up with a huff and opening his brother's bedroom door. "hey shithead- i gotta talk to you about something."
Logan didn't spend much time in their apartment anymore. A little too obsessed with Mavis. But he'd still noticed that his brother had been spiraling for a lack of a better word. He'd done what he does best and mind his business but now Beck was bursting into his room. "Beck, what the fuck!" Logan put down his book. "Why are you yelling?"
Stefan had been told before that his sense of self-preservation must have been shot. He had the amazing ability to not be able to be hurt and strength that was far more than the average person. That and being a McQueen made him a thrillseeker. But there was no bigger thrill to him than interacting with Fox Jones. They'd starter off as unlikely friends that had gradually grown closer until the friendship became something more. It had taken some convincing but they'd been dating for 6 months now and Stefan had never been happier.
"Hey, babe." Stefan announced himself as he walked into his apartment. He'd moved out into his own place a month ago and now Fox was over a lot more. He placed the groceries he'd picked up on the kitchen island and went to the fridge to get a drink. "I got you what you asked for."

mavis noticed his slight disappointment and made a mental note to think that over later. what did that mean? did he want her to talk about only him? she wasn't sure. but in all honesty logan took up most of her conversation. their adventures together. he was teaching her so much. opening doors for her she never knew existed outside those castle walls.
"well, i think you made a perfectly good first impression on me." she said with a smile. "i mean if you hadn't i would never have learned how to pick a lock." she giggled.
"i highly doubt im the first girl to call you cute, logan. so don't pretend i'm the one giving you a big head."
Logan wasn't good at reading signs or noticing what other people were thinking. For the most part, he was very introverted and tried to ignore anyone else around him. But he was hyper-aware of Mavis. He only wanted to see a smile on her face and a glimmer in her eye.
"Well I guess your opinion is the only one that matters, huh?" Logan smiled at her. "Are you implying that I'm a bad influence, Mavey?"
"I don't really pay attention to what people say about me. It's never nice." Logan shrugged. "You're the only one bold enough to like me."

"You know, they're actually adorable," Freddy commented from his mug of mid-morning coffee. Their children were growing up and coming into their own. on that path, the discovery of love was one of those ventures. Seeing their most feral child, Fox, find someone warmed Freddy's heart. "I never thought I would see the day that our son doesn't have murderous intent in his eyes but I'm glad I lived to." The blonde man plopped down next to his husband and kissed his cheek. "reminds me of when you tamed me."
"Please tell me you didn't just realize that." Shaggy shook his head as he finished pouring himself his apple juice. He'd always found their children adorable. He'd enjoyed watching them grow into people who he could be proud of. "Fox is just a unique child. He just needed to find someone who could see that and celebrate it. You're also not old, baby, you were going to live to see our kids happy." He smiled at the kiss and reached over to pat his thigh with his free hand. "Freddy, you were a walk in the park compared to what Stefan's had to do. You were putty in my hands."
"Silly Berlioz"
With cheeks flushed and heated from the praise, Pascal couldn't help but return him an innocent smile. The kind of tenderness that Berlioz offered was foreign to him. It seemed fresh and genuine. Unlike the things, he had been through in his early years. It was pouring rain and dim as they stepped out of their flat, but he was reluctant to dwell in the past when the future appeared so much lighter in the other's presence.
Pascal pulled an umbrella from the backpack he carried, waving it in front of him, faint laughter betraying his excitement while raindrops coated his cheeks. "Hope you don't mind a little rain .. unless you do?"
"are you going to tell me where we're going?" he said, voice wavering as he extended his umbrella. "or is it a surprise?" he whispered as he drew closer.
Berlioz couldn't take the smile off of his face even if he wasn't happy with how much his plans had changed for the day. He was pulled out of his thoughts. "You're always so prepared." Berlioz chuckled as he stepped closer to be under the umbrella with the other. "The rain made me change my plans but I'm still not telling you were we're going." He smiled as he kissed Pascal's cheek. "You'll just have to wait until we get there."
april's face scrunched at his reply. god-- ew. she thought to herself. maybe she just needed to find someone and she could totally drop it-- nah, she knew that wouldn't happen. she would still pick on them regardless. "listen, i sooooo did. and he is sooo gonna be your little boyfriend. mark my words, hamato. i can sense these things." april said with a confident nod, "oh please. you having a friend? just a friend? WHO? you? NOPE. donnie we both know that you don't do friends. that i'm your only friend. and you for sure don't do it with your friends if you were to in fact make friends."
Donnie tried hiding his smug smirk at her reaction. Everybody had so many questions but nobody liked the answer. The smirk dropped as he rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah, I think your sixth sense is malfunctioning because that's not how this is gonna go. Commitment is not my thing." Donnie couldn't help the pout that formed on his lips. "It's not like I had the chance before. Jasper and I just like the same things! We're friends! We just happen to have benefits. It's a thing! Besides, you're not my friend...you're my sister, there's a difference."
Sulley was utterly irresistible. He relished in their back-and-forth, the arrogance, and the little disputes. They had a tight bond. Something that brought them back into each other’s arms. Adam was well aware of James’ dominance over him, and despite James’ unwillingness to recognize it, he knew James felt the same way.
Otherwise, why was he still in his bed?
The prince observed with great interest as Sulley obliged with his demand. At least half of it. After all, his lips were still longing for that kiss, after all.
“James, you find my poetry unappealing? Here I was attempting to be romantic.“ index fingers tracing the trail of bite marks on his shoulder, the prince inched closer as he spoke "or would you rather a rougher approach?”
He was torn between killing this man and kissing him constantly. He had no idea why he'd given in to him but his good looks had a lot to do with it. But Adam knew how to drive him up a wall and make him want to never speak to him again.
Yet, they were in the same bed.
Sulley leaned into his space attracted to the magnetic force of a man. "You're terrible at it. Just tell me what you want." Sulley sighed and shook his head. "Yeah, no, you've had enough of a rough time with me and now I'm bruised."

CLOSED ; Ada Teague / @thouscndcuts
being the heir of Hallow Falls wasn't always as glamorous as people assumed. Like any royal, Lilith was expected to uphold certain values and traditions. Those values looked a little different now thanks to her parents who ruled with their people in mind rather than their own fortune and gain. The afternoon had been spent with her grandmother going over the Skellington history. It was heavy, to say the least. So the fact she was meeting up with Ada afterward is what kept Lili in a good mood. She was a lot like her parents. Once she found the object of her affection she was utterly obsessed. Lili had grown up around Ada and once it clicked that she liked her the little skeleton turtle was devoted to her beloved demon. she could be overbearing with her affection at times but it's who Lili was. She loved hard and hated even harder. Walking into Ada's place of work, Lili leaned on the counter and immediately brightened as she looked at the other woman. "I know I'm late but I'm here now. I promise to make it up to you."
Ada had grown up between Hallow Falls and Elias. She'd felt of two worlds with her heroic mother and her demonic nature. Beckham Teague wasn't exactly the best when it came to explaining powers. He and his siblings having grown up in the dark of it. She'd learned more about the Teagues and who they really were through Jasper. She started hanging around the town more and had event taken a job at the town's library/museum. She'd gained her mother's love for learning, after all.
Of course, dating the princess and future queen hadn't been in her plans but it was certainly a plus. Ada wasn't exactly the most affectionate mainly because of her struggle with her powers but Lili had changed all that in her. Her girlfriend was like moth looking for her flame and Ada had been lucky to be her light. She smiled at her and leaned over to kiss her cheek, "I forgive you. I know those meetings aren't fun. You just owe me ice cream now."
Seth had grown up hearing fairytales from his parents. Their love seemed to be written out of one. Their family story was filled with daring fights, evil witches, and true love kisses. As Seth got older he knew these more archaic ideals of royal love were to fade. The scales of good and evil were in balance. Seth and his brother had only known peace growing up. They didn't need to worry about saving a kingdom only finding happiness. Seth was a lover. His giant stature was bursting at the seams to share his affection. he shared it with many until he found Theo. the little witch had stolen his heart immediately. She was mean at first but Seth was persistent. Perhaps a little too much to the point he was borderline annoying but he knew what he wanted and that was Theodosia Pendragon. He'd take her thorns and all and in return give her unconditional love.
It took some time for Seth to charm Theo's family. She was the baby and only girl. While his parents didn't baby him for being the youngest son he could understand their hesitation with him. His reputation did proceed him. He was grateful that Theo agreed to meet his family. the circumstances weren't ideal with a coronation taking place but better now than never! "she is. I'm lucky to be her son." seth was grateful to have such a loving and wonderful mother. he hoped to have even an ounce of the kindness she possessed. He certainly held the hope that beat within her heart in his. "are you saying I still am a charming terror?" he smirked turning the blonde to face him. "is that why you fell for me, little witch?"
Magic was all Theo knew. A home full of floating dishes and granted wished. Her father being one of the strongest wizards in the world would drop everything to make little shows and tricks for her. He'd shown her that true love wasn't flashy and grand but something as simple as making her mother her favorite cup of tea and holding his children in his lap to read them a book. Their home had been wild, loud and crazy but it had been warm, loving and kind. Something she found in the silly tall prince. He fit into her life as if he was meant to be there.
She was the princess in her home. With older brothers and a skeptical father, it was a wonder Seth was allowed over at all. She did always get what she wanted and she wanted her Seth. She could only hope his family liked her half as much as he seemed to like her. "Yes, you are." Theo admired Seth's love for his family. They could understand each other there. Their families meant the world to them. "Very much so. Though the charming part is debatable." She smirked back at him. "I fell for you because you were a very persistent bother. That, and you can get things off the top shelf for me."
"that's exactly what i'm saying." benjamin replied with a smirk. if benjamin was anything it was a menace and he played it well. ben rolled his eyes at the correction, "same thing. box, ox. tit, tat. blah blah." he waved off, before the other grabbed his pinky in his. and the game was on. "considering almost everyone is dating someone else.. my chances are pretty good." he grinned, pulling him a bit closer, while his other hand reached up to brush his jaw gently, "and if i had to bet... i would bet you would rather kiss just me than all of them."
"That's a little rude. Seeing as I thought we were friends this entire time." Kieran rolled his eyes at Ben's smirk. He was used to this game that the prince liked to play. "Right, silly me." He knew this was dangerous. He'd avoided this closeness for years since he realized his feelings for the other. "You're right there. I'll have to look outside of the group then." His eyes flicked down to the other's lips before looking back up. He was trying hard not to let the other affect him. "Oh? You've always been so sure of yourself, haven't you? Why would I want to kiss you?"
