The Threads That Bind is a free to play interactive novel set within the magical world of Harry Potter. Wherein you play as a wizard thatās been transported back into the Founderās Era of Hogwarts. Will you find your way back? Will you want to?
The Magical World is filled a variety of creaturesā from fire breathing dragons to shrieking plantsā that vary in terms of deadliness. The creatures, however, arenāt the only things one needed to watch out for; other magic users, the oneās with an affinity to the Dark Arts, still roamed even after years of Voldemortās defeat.
Thatās where you come in.
Youāre an Aurorā a police officer for the Magical Worldā that makes sure the innocent people of Diagon Alley, and beyond, are kept safe.
It was during one of these chasesā having been tipped off about a suspected straggler from Voldemortās Armyā that your life changed forever.
Having crashed through one of the seedier stores within Knockturn Alley, you were blinded by a flash of light before appearing in a world that seemed like your own but was completely different all the same.
Not only were you stuck in the pastā centuries before you were ever borneā you had no idea how to return to the present.
Nor did the people who came with youā¦
This story will be rated 18+ later on for profanity, alcohol consumption, violence, sexual themes, and mentions of torture.

The Founder of House Gryffindor; Godric/Godria is exactly as the stories have spoken of. Standing tall and proud, auburn hair falling in gentle waves, as their green eyes observe their surroundings. Their famous sword always on their hip as they traverse through the halls of Hogwarts.
Will you tame their lion heart? Or will you get nothing but heartache for your troubles?
The Founder of House Hufflepuff; Helge/Helga is a kind hearted being that wants nothing but the best for their studentsā and for the other Founders to stop bickeringā with encouraging words always leaving their lips. Dark brown hair, paired with hazel eyes, giving off a gentle aura that they always try to maintain.
Will you show them the loyalty theyāve always given others? Or will you leave them like the many before?
The Founder of House Ravenclaw; Rowen/Rowena is an intelligent individual that always has an air of detachment surrounding them. Raven black hair, crystalline blue eyes, and fair skin, gives them an intimidating stature that they donāt dispute. However, itās with a select few of their students that they let their guard down. Letting their true identity to appear. Will you ever become lucky enough to see it?
Will you be able to temper their talons? Or will you only end up getting cut?
The Founder of House Slytherin; Salazar/Salazara is not what you were expecting when you met them for the first time. Pale blonde hair, slate grey eyes, and alabaster skin were not things youāve ever heard them be described with. Their cunning mind, quick wit, and silver tongue doing well to detract from peoples attention on their looks.
Will you be able to withstand their venom? Or will you fall prey to it like many before you?
Your partnerā one of the people that had been unfortunately pulled with youā for over two years. They may not have the most practical ideas but theyāre more likely to work than one may think. Their dark brown eyes filled with nothing but warmth towards youā pairing well with their onyx black curls and medium brown skin toneā as theyāve often mentioned they could have never asked for a better partner.
Will you become more? Or is that all you will ever be?
The other person that was pulled alongā unfortunately for youā who also happens to be the very person you had been chasing. One of the last stragglers of Voldemortās army; Kieran/Kieraās dark blue eyes are sharper than the simple lackeys youāve met before. Paired with their flirtatious smile and quips, you know you have quite the time ahead of you. Especially now that you donāt technically have the jurisdiction to detain them.
Will you find out what hides underneath the mark on their arm? Or will they forever remain an enigma to you?

Advisor sound way more appealing to me cause I really don't see interesting dynamic with the role of Hagrid. MC will have to live rather secludedly and while it can be fun with the forest around, real connection to people and exploring of Hogwarts castle and being there constantly screaming "I'm a better option" š
I think itāll entirely depend on how my planning stage for the interactions with the ROs go. As one of the best ways to connect with the Founders is to connect with their specific studentsā and one of the best ways it to be a teacherā plus A and K can have roles in helping you out too, which means bonding time with them.
Will the player be able to become an Animagus? Also will we be able to have a pet?
Yes. Your MC can be an Animagus; it would already be established as such though (so youād just be one instead of training to be one as it can take a while).
As for a pet? I havenāt truly decided. Youāll get assigned an owl though.
aww the hagrid role sounds very sweet, especially if the MC has no idea what theyre doing and just have to roll with it until they realise theyre actually a natural at the job and really enjoy hanging out with these very cute, potentially life threatening, creatures
Iām just imagining the MC not knowing about a certain animal fullyā while teaching a classā and their robes (or whatever) get lit on fire and they freak out (after not noticing it for a moment; bonus points if a student points it out) and your chosen RO just looks out of one of the windows in Hogwarts and see the MC bolting across the lawn towards the Black Lake (completely forgetting about their wand or anything else) while on fire.
Just their initial reaction to that would be hilarious too. Plus all of the students.
But, yes, that was my original thought with it too. Plus, you get to have a hippogriff right next to you too.
Well!! Time to dust of my old Harry Potter oc, who also happen to be an Auror. Sorry if this spoilers, or if this is a stupid question, but I want to know, how old the mc and ros gonna be, what is our role in this strange time, eg are we gonna be a student or a teacher at Hogwarts?

The MC is in their late 20s (Iāll let you all decide from there). As the majority of the ROs (mainly the Founders) are in their early-mid 30s. A is around the MCs age and K is too.
As for your new role within Hogwarts? Honestly Iāve been amused by the thought of you all trying to take over Hagridās role but Iām still on the fence. You might just become an advisor to one of the Founders (or youāll be a temporary guard for Hogwarts). When I narrow things downā as I have many thoughtsā Iāll let you all know.
Soooo are you gonna take a few creative liberties and make Slytherin not the reincarnation of evil? Cause I like romancing the shady/villain esque character as much as any other IF reader, but that dude hid a child killing overgrown worm in the pipe lines and he was racist(blood-ist). That's kinda going into un redeemable territory there fam.
S has shifted from canon, yes. The Basilisk is still a thing but obviously it has a different story behind it (especially since S hasnāt left Hogwarts), which is something youāll discover if you become close with them.
But, yes, S is different then their canon counterpart (while still having some qualities shared between the two).

As for what Iām most most excited for? Just expanding on a time period that hasnāt really been touched on in canon. Plus the interactions with the Founders is something Iām super interested withā their dynamics and whatnotā and I know youāll find it somewhat interesting too. Especially the polar opposite houses H with S or R with G.
