Imagine if people watched Interview with the Vampire and it inspired them to think about how the past is in a very real way inaccessible to us and memory can be misleading even when you're not being dishonest and different people can have different experiences of the same event that feel emotionally true and are very real to the people who experienced them even if they contradict each other and often you will never be able to know what really happened and how this can make repairing damaged relationships difficult and threatening to a person's sense of self
Exactly, every single one of them are unreliable narrators, just in different ways. And that's one of the main aspects of the show that so many viewers don’t get. It’s not a case of it’s so and so POV, and they don’t lie…the books says so.
No, the books say no such thing. The books also writes them all as unreliable narrators who forget things and who tell their stories based on their emotions. And as I said in other places, emotional truth is the most unreliable truth of all because of the simple fact everything you say is heightened by your emotions.
Truth is always subjective on some level or another. Facts are not. And no character has shown us an unvarnished fact yet. Even the cutting off of the heads and the events of the seance should be viewed as Lestat’s truth, and not factual.
