Do you ever wonder why Verso didn't just sit back for like... A few more years and just let Renoir delete the Canvas on his own? Because I have.

Like, beneath all of the obvious reasons that we've discussed to death. Do you think he had an inkling that if things had played out as they would have in the long run, Aline would have just fully lost it?

Maybe she survives the remaining 33 years in the Canvas by some miracle, but how broken would she have come out mentally? Watching her husband slowly erase the last little bits of comfort she could dig out from her grief. Being forced to watch helplessly as even with her considerable talent and experience, she can't even save her son's life in her fantasies.

I watched C2 for the fantastic improv, beautiful moments, lightning in a bottle rolls, tearjerker backstories, complicated characters, fun yet tense fights, slapdickery, gorgeous descriptions, inspiring locations, intricate maps, impressive minis, good plans, bad plans, strategic gameplay, rule of cool gameplay, the NPCs, the enemies, the monsters, the cast, the DM, the Nat 20s, Nat 1s and everyhing in between.

The Mighty Nein mean the world to me and the animated show is bringing all of that and a perfectly (as of the end of season 1) compacted and altered script for it's purposes. I can talk for hours about every single member and their relationships both within and without the main team. I can probably write a full uni work on each of them. There's just that much and it's that good. I will forever be grateful that I live in a world where we have C2.

... That being said, Caleb Widogast and Essek Thelyss better be so unabashedly will-they-won't-they that the people's faces MELT from it.

I want an episode in later seasons to start with a borderline love scene and it turns out that it's just Jester, Beau and Nott speculating on what Essek and Caleb are doing locked in a laboratory all night. It just cuts between the three of them talking and different variations of what they imagine is happening in there (with various levels of bodice ripper tropes). Just so we can have a treat and the power scalers can have a conniption.

The truth, of course, is that Caleb is copying spells while Essek panics internally and pretends to do math.

The mighty nein's romantic entanglements are soo funny when you try to put them down on paper. Like. Jester is in love with Fjord, who has feelings for her too but also he was seduced by and slept with an evil cult leader, who was also the ex of his father figure, whose accent and mannerisms Fjord was mimicking while sleeping with her. Also the evil ex flirted with Beau, who then got her killed and stole her clothes. Beau was growing feelings for Yasha but then Yasha turned evil and had a dead wife so Beau slept with Reani (who was also attracted to Caleb and Essek) and developed a crush on Jester and then Yasha came back and she reciprocated but also she too may have had a crush on Jester, and also she invited Veth into a threesome with her and Beau. Caleb also has feelings for Jester and they never really went away and he thinks Fjord is really hot and he's being hunted by his two evil exes from his old polycule (who he's maybe planning to murder so he can use their bodies to fake his parents' death but none of them ever got over each other) and his best friend (who was married before she died and came back wrong) is in love with him and his feelings for her are more complicated than can be described in words and she’s the most important person in his life and he isn't necessarily in love with her but he is jealous of her husband. He and Essek were honeypotting each other for information but then they really liked each other but then Essek was evil and Caleb projected on him like crazy and now they grow green beans together. Molly flirted with everyone and slept naked in his and Fjord's room, but also all three instances of him expressed attraction to Caleb specifically and who knows where that would've lead had he lived. They’ve all seen each other naked (to search each other for evil eyes). Caduceus is there, eating popcorn.

If Matt Mercer has taught us anything (repeatedly), it's that Essek Thelyss is an absolute freak and we should be grateful for it.

This is the wisdom he wishes to impart on all of us (at any opertunity).

You know what, good! I'm tired of demi-sexual and aces (regardless of where they fall on the spectrum) being Virgin Married in media.
