I don’t think you guys understand how absolutely fucking insane it is that +10k fics have been updated in the Byler tag since the first of January. To compare, 9700 fics were added to the Mike/Will tag on Ao3 in the WHOLE OF 2025. And they were the 3rd most popular ship of 2025, measured by the amount of fics added in that year. And now, in 2026, already thousands of fics got added in a singular month?! It is very likely they will earn the #1 spot for most popular ship in 2026 just because of this month alone. That’s fucking insane you guys (and i love it, obviously)
ohhh eurydice!max is alive and well in volume 2 except just this once it turned out differently. we sang it again and again and again and again and finally she walked out of the underworld and into her lover's arms. good news guys if you tell the story enough times you actually can save the hungry young girl after all
no you don't understand. we literally sang it again and again. "are you sick of it yet?" lucas asks, and max shakes her head no, because she can't be sick of the song that saved her, even if it only saved her once. even though it failed to save her a thousand times before. because you always play it again. you always sing it anyway. and maybe this is the time you play it at just the right time for her to come back to you. you had to fail a thousand times to make it out once, but it's worth it to make it out once, because you land in your lover's arms and you can't imagine being sick of the song.

Okay I have to say it. Did anyone else in the Stranger Things/byler community used to be (or is anyone currently still) an avid Umbrella Academy fan and currently getting extreme whiplash from the resurgence of discussion about “I think we’re alone now” but this time in the context of Stranger Things?? Cause the soundtrack tease has been resurfacing all of these UA memories for me lol.

Get your writing boots on Byler fans, we have 21 days until Volume Two drops, which means 20 days of Byler fics!! The following is a prompt list for each day!
This is my second time running an event, so please be kind!!
These prompts don't have to be followed, it's completely fine to write you own ideas! They're mainly a guide for days you get stuck on what to write!
How this will work:
If you want to participate, leave a reply or reblog this (and if we have enough interest, I'll maybe make a community or something??). You'll have as long as you need to write your fics, there's no pressure to write as fast as possible and you don't need to write every day unless you're up for the challenge!
Adding this in, since I know it will be a question, if you have a prompt you want to work on and want to spend longer on it, you can! I'm not sure how to explain it without an example: if you really fancy writing a Miwi fic and want to spend a lot of time writing it, you can quite literally spent the next two weeks solely writing it :) idk I hope that makes sense!
You can write and submit as many fics per day as you like, the more the merrier! There's no word count (100 or 10,000, it doesn't matter!).
If there are spoilers for season 5 in your work, please tag accordingly! And in general, make sure everything is tagged properly! And please no NSFW as they're MINORS. (Just making sure everyone is on the same page.)
I'll create an Ao3 collection where you can post your fics to under the name "BylerCountdown25". If you don't use Ao3 or prefer not to post there, then use the tag #bylercountdown so we can keep everyone's together!
