A first kiss scenario you haven't drawn yet?
Whelp, how 'bout I just write it! Pre-Calamity, somewhere in the castle:
Zelda huffed lightly. She smiled playfully, but Link could see the frustration in her eyes. His heart thumped loudly in his ears.
"Link..." She said, lightly exasperated, "Honestly. If I were just *any* other girl in Hyrule, what would you do?"
Heat rose to his cheeks. There was no escape this time. "Right now?" he asked.
"Right now," she said, pointedly.
He sighed. He knew. He'd imagined it a thousand times. He felt the words float out of his mouth as if by some outside force, "I'd ask you on a date."
She instantly turned away, failing to hide her red-hot cheeks, "A date?"
Link felt winded, "Yeah."
Regaining her composure, she shot him a coy glance over her shoulder, "What kind of a date?"
"Um," Link scratched at the back of his neck, "We'd do something special. I'd take you camping. Cook you something over a fire."
Zelda burst out laughing, "LINK. That's just what we do normally! How is that special??"
Link smiled, jokingly, "Cuz it's a date!"
Zelda giggled and looked to the floor. "Is that really what you would have us do?"
His smile warmed and he said earnestly, "It would be special."
Zelda hummed and turned toward him. "A surprise special?"
Link bit his lip slightly, "Yeah."
Zelda took a step toward him with the poise of a cat on the prowl, "And that is what you *truly* want?"
Dear Goddess, what was he getting himself into?? "Yes..." he nearly choked on the word.
She took another step forward, her voice lowered, eyes locked on his, "But we can't because, as you say..." She took another step, "I'm the Princess..."
She was close enough he could feel her warmth. His whole body buzzed. His voice was barely a whisper, "Maybe that doesn't matter after all..."
Her face hovered just before his, "Maybe..." The word tickled his slightly parted lips.
Her half-lidded eyes examined his for one moment longer, hovering a mere hair's-breadth away. One final push and her impossibly soft lips met his. He inhaled sharply. He bathed in her touch, her taste, her smell. His whole body screamed. But no. Not like this. It took all his willpower, but he peeled himself away, grasping her shoulders, eyes clamped shut. His breathy tenor spilled across the unwelcomed space between them, "If...If we're going to do this...I wanna do it right."
She met his soft, sincere gaze, and her eyes narrowed with a glint of danger. She brought her lips to his ear, and he felt her say, "Then it's a date."
And with that, she quickly turned and left, her long, golden hair whipping him lightly. As soon as she had left the room, all the tension Link didn't know he was holding suddenly released, and he buckled to the floor, panting breathlessly.
Did that actually just happen?
