I decided to try my hand at TLOK style (is it obvious that I had a self-insert eight years ago?), and since I very much enjoyed it I think I'm gonna stick to it with the other boys as well. I'm just so hyped with the amount of avatar content we're getting this year that I can't help it
No new notes for this guy, other than 1). I made him even more jacked 'cause earthbenders are just built different (maaan Twilight's gonna be fun to draw); 2). I've added different patterns to his tunic and 3). he's got a kid design now!
I also want you to know that he is roughly 5 and a half heads tall and barely reaches Time's chest

I think the Zelda fandom has an issue with babying Link and pitying him at every turn, yet many are very quick to point fingers at Zelda for tripping or messing up when the weight of an entire kingdom and more is falling on her shoulders as well.
Like with Skyward Sword Zelda and Hylia. "She used him!" Okay, well, it was either use Link or the apocalypse begins and everyone super dies horribly. Necessary choice that she also expressed extreme guilt for having to make.
Grown ass men also LOVE to throw tomatoes at Ocarina of Time Zelda, who was literally ten years old. Just... what? Seriously??? You do the shit she had to do at her age without making a mistake, good lord.
OH, and Breath of the Wild Zelda, a teenage girl who had her father constantly looming over her shoulder and berating her over something she genuinely couldn't control, PLUS projecting his own insecurities onto her and repeating gossip she should NOT have to have on her conscious.
She was constantly struggling at her duty, which has been hung over her head and drummed into her skull her entire life, so when she sees Link, who appears to have just waltzed into his destiny with ease, she gets annoyed and raises her voice at him literally ONCE.
"SPAWN OF THE DEVIL!!!!" "BITCH WHO DESERVES NOTHING AND SHOULD DIE!!!" "CALLOUS AND UNCARING!!!" "SELFISH!!!" "STUPID!!!"
Ohhhh my GOOOODDD.
I love playing story games with my mother ^u^
She's been watching me play Skyward Sword, and while I wasn't sure if she'd like it initially, she quickly got so invested in the story and the characters, and it's made the whole experience 10x better with someone to bounce off of (especially since she doesn't really have that much Zelda knowledge, so it's all new to her)!
She's been getting hyped up with battles, cheering with me, and then in the next minute she's noticing all these little details in the background, like how much Link has grown and how admirable he is for standing up to insurmountable odds. She's cooing at the remlits and then deeply feeling for how Gaepora laments the loss of his daughter, because she can imagine how devastating it would be to have your child disappear so suddenly. Her perspective on the story is really fascinating, and it speaks to the timeless nature of Zelda games that they truly can be loved by any generation.
She may raise an eyebrow at the occasional odd character design, but she's really grown to like the others. Seeing her go from despising Groose and how he picked on Link to smiling and "aww" ing at how Groose cares for Grannie was so rewarding ^u^ She also really likes Owlan and says his hair is handsome like Legolas’s 😂 And she thinks Link has a gentle, sweet face, and I have to agree, he's just so kind and expressive in this game!
Plus I adore how she's so protective of Link when Ghirahim shows up. During the last Ghirahim fight, I paused it and we were talking about how cool it was that he's Fi's parallel, and then when I was about to unpause the game and asked if she was ready for the final fight, she told me, "Oh yeah! He's a big piece of dirt, and I can't wait to see him IN the dirt!” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💀 If Ghirahim could hear her I don't think he'd ever recover, I was laughing for a solid two minutes after that 🤣
We were both on the edge of our seats at the end (Well, I was OUT of my seat flailing around against Ghirahim and Demise respectively), and even though I had seen the ending cutscene many years ago, my mother had not, and it made both of us emotional, her especially so. It also made me realize that Link, Zelda, and Groose ALL had to let go of their steady companions on the Surface: Fi, Impa, and the elder, respectfully, and boy that hit hard >u< I absolutely ADORE this game, and getting to play through it, and take time to explore at my own pace, talk to everyone, and discover secrets has been more fun than I can put into words. Going from playing Nancy Drew PC games with my mother to having her be a part of this adventure has been extra special, and time that I wouldn’t trade for anything. In the words of Fi, “Thank You,” Skyward Sword, for being an amazing adventure ^u^

Most days, Ganondorf went back and forth—did he wish he could remember what the fuck was going on and how he got here, or didn't he? He usually managed to make peace with the fact that he didn’t, and there was very little chance he would remember ever again. Some days, he stared at the people around him as if he thought he could somehow pull from their gaze a little warning or a little sense. Who am I? Where did I come from? Who are the Gerudo, really? Stop treating me like a THING. It did him little good. He understood the Hylian language; he could speak Hylian fine, although apparently he had a fairly strong accent compared to the people around him, and the wrong language came out once in a while. Unfortunately, absolutely no one was willing to treat him like he spoke Hylian, because up until a few months ago he’d been nothing but a monster. At least people would answer his questions about that.
