Faye had only decided to tell Sheila because of a gut feeling she had. Somehow she genuinely believed that she wouldn’t tell anyone else about her witchy side. People already believed she was just a bitch anyways, but she knew she could be blunt. “It’s a family thing,” she nodded, “so, yes. I was born with it. There’s not many of us and we don’t all live here in Chance Harbor right now either.”

Sheila’s eyes widened as Faye confirmed that it was a family thing, and that there weren’t many of them. “Sorry, I know I’m asking a lot of questions, but this is so interesting to me. I’ve never met a witch before.” She remembered to keep her voice down so whoever was around them, not that there were many, were less likely to overhear.

katelin chuckled through her nose and shrugged. “well, i didn’t really have a friend until i got to high school. i think i turned out alright.” she made the olympic team that first year, now that she thought about it. she was dedicated to her sports enough. but her family was the same way. they always said she needed friends. katelin shrugged. “i just got my eye on making that team again and bringing home a gold medal. i’m going to do all i can to get it this time.” she was so frustrated last time when she got fourth place. was it amazing to be on the team at all? of course! that didn’t mean she couldn’t be upset she didn’t even get a bronze medal. “why not? that sounds fun.” she needed a break sometimes. all she was planning on doing today was grabbing dinner by herself and stretching as she watched netflix. “did you know i didn’t have practice tonight or did you just guess?” katelin gave her a joking smile as she sat back in her chair.

“I think you did too.” Sheila offered kindly, giving her a small but nonetheless genuine smile. She wondered, sometimes, what it would be like to be that dedicated to something-a sport, an instrument, something-and then she’d realize that she didn’t think she could handle being that stressed out and tired all the time. Some people could handle it, like Katelin. Sheila simply couldn’t, though. “I think if anyone can do it, it’s you, Kat. You’re only the most talented person I know.” She said, and she meant every word.  “I didn’t know you didn’t have practice tonight for sure, but I had hoped that would be the case.” She said with a slightly wider smile.

katelin looked over her shoulder at their teacher, hopefully she wasn’t going to walk around and ask questions. class was really the only time she had any time to actually talk to people who weren’t in the skating club or on the hockey team. she sighed, but she couldn’t help the knowing smile. that’s all she did. if it wasn’t skating practice, it was hockey practice and vice versa. but she turned back once she knew they were fine. “well, kristi yamaguchi didn’t win her gold medal by going out every night.” that’s what her coach always said. “but, don’t worry, no practice tonight. i do have it tomorrow at six am.” her entire schedule was planned out to the minute. “what were you planning after this?”

Sheila looked at her. “I’m pretty sure even Kristi Yamaguchi had some kind of a social life.” She pointed out. After all, humans were naturally social creatures, they couldn’t function properly without some kind of social interaction. She winced when Katelin said that she had practice at six am tomorrow. “I really don’t know how you do it, Kat, getting up that early would be nearly impossible for me. But, you’re driven-I’ve gotta respect that.” She said, folding her hands on the table. “So, what I was thinking was we hang out. Eat junk food, watch movies, things like that.”

“So, what are you up to after this, Kat?” Sheila asked softly as they sat in class. They weren’t going to get in trouble, they were grouped up talking about the book they were reading for English class. “And please don’t say practice because you’ve been working yourself to the bone lately. I know hard work is usually seen as a good thing, but too much of it can’t be good for an Olympic hopeful.”

Faye nodded as she straightened up, actually believing Sheila wouldn’t tell. Call it witch’s intuition, but even if she told there were spells to make her forget. She had it seen it firsthand with the one spell her mother had done after Faye injured the girl. Not to mention Cassie’s grandma, but that was just sad. Faye shook away those thoughts as she refocused her attention on Sheila. “The man who owns this place is no stranger to these kind of particular mishaps.”

“Oh.” Sheila said. “Well, I’d say this is quite the welcome to Chance Harbour.” She said. Was she flirting? Maybe a little, but it wasn’t intentional or very overt. It was subtle, feeling out the situation to see if flirting with Faye was a good idea and something the other girl would be receptive to. “So, have you...how does that work?” She asked, lowering her voice so they weren’t likely to be overheard. “Were you born a witch?”

I think I’m gonna clean out my drafts and start fresh, they’ve been in my drafts for too long and I have no muse as a result. Like for a starter from Sheila, please?

sharpay    tossed    her    phone    aside    and    went    to    buzz    sheila    in,    already    leaving    her    apartment    door    open.    even    if    sheila    decided    to    go    out    for    food,    then    she    would    have    to    wait    in    the    apartment    for    while    sharpay    got    ready.    although,    with    how    late    and    how    hungry    they    were,    sharpay    had    a    hunch    they    were    going    to    order    in.    the    blonde    doesn’t    even    wait    for    the    other    to    close    the    door    before    she    speaks    up,    “    I    meant    what    I    said,    we’re    ordering    vegan.    ”

Sheila was glad that Sharpay was willing to indulge her less than...rational decisions. Sheila came up when Sharpay buzzed her in and offered a smile to her friend. The door’s not even closed before Sharpay speaks up, and Sheila deflates a little. “Vegan, really? You know you can eat actual food that isn’t unhealthy for you, right?” She was decidedly not a vegan, and she likely never would be because she liked certain foods too much for that to be something she’d even pretend to entertain the thought of. She didn’t judge Sharpay for it, but it just wasn’t for Sheila herself.

in truth he had always been somewhat… awkward, bad at making friends ( how he was friends with eurydice was beyond him ). what he does know, though is that he was a hard worker and the his grades… somewhat showed it. he does not know what would interest shelia in terms of the project, though. what she would prefer to do, but he does know that it will turn out alright. 

“ right. of course. that makes sense. “ it was easier for him to focus on the latter at times, the end product but… he supposed they’ll have nothing to present if they don’t do the content first. “ do you want to split it? what are you thinking? “ 

“I think we should split it. My parole officer will never get off my case if I don’t at least split it 50-50 with you.” Sheila hoped that mentioning her parole officer wouldn’t make him not want to work with her-if that happened, she knew she’d have to go at it alone, because she didn’t exactly have people lining up to be her partner in the first place. But if it did, well, it was his loss. Not that she’d say this out loud, of course, because doing so would be rather rude, in her opinion.

Faye moved her head back a little, looking directly into Sheila’s eyes now. A grin was already spread across her lips. “I have a feeling you’re not going to say anything,” her grin widened. It wasn’t that Faye was threatening her, but that she was sure the girl would keep quiet. 

Well, Faye was right about that. In more ways than one. “Not that anyone would even believe me if I did. I mean I watched it happen first hand and I’m not sure I even believe it myself.” She said simply. “Either way, I’m not going to say anything.”

“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Sheila.” He returned the smile, doing his best to make the girl feel safe around him. “We should probably get you some things. New clothes and the like… think that would work?”

“You too.” She returned, still warily looking at him. He seemed nice enough, but a lot of people did until you let your guard down and they showed their true colors. At his question, she nodded. “Yeah, I think that would work.”

James couldn’t hide how happy it made him that she was accepting this. Pietro would be, too, he knew. And Penny, once Pietro had her repaired, would be delighted to have a sister. “Wonderful! I’m James… but you probably knew that…may I uh… ask for your name?”

“I did know that.” Sheila said, offering a gentle smile in spite of her wariness. If he was trying to trick her, he was putting a lot of effort in, so she let herself hope that maybe this was real, that she was being given a chance to go somewhere better, to have a home again. Provided Dr. Polendina reacted positively, of course. “I’m Sheila. Sheila Nail.”

it was understandable considering what she’d divulged about her love life. and though he wasn’t one to make sheila doubly skeptical, he was getting warmer by the second, each shot swirling and its effects lingered, gripped him tight with little mercy. “sometimes it’s the nice ones that fuck you over the most – it’s ‘cause we let our guard down around those,” karim murmured, though hardly experienced with relationships enough to give such advice.

Well, he definitely wasn’t wrong about that in the slightest. “Fair enough. My only previous relationship, she was plenty nice and yet she still managed to hurt me somehow.” She told him as she leaned against the bar, shaking her head as the bartender started to bring her a new shot. She definitely didn’t need any more of those.

Usually, someone who smirked like that would automatically set her on edge. But Puck was different. She knew he wasn’t as bad as he liked to pretend he was, though she’d never say so out loud. “Tell me about it.” Rachel was talented, sure, but the sheer amount of solos she got (and her general ‘I’m so much better than everyone else’ attitude) made it very hard for Sheila to deal with her. At his words, she tilted her head slightly, considering it. “That could work. It could give us an edge in the ‘competition’.” She didn’t really care if they won or not, if she was being honest, but she certainly wouldn’t be upset if they did win.
