03.06.16 | I have spent the majority of today crying from frustration over trying to get everything sorted for everyone else. I havent even LOOKED and all the important things I should be doing, I just dont care right now đ Instead Iâve restarted a textbook I read but didnt actualy study, and this time Iâm taking notes! Yes that is my Frankie diary I spent a good month bitching about; Iâve decided to give it a chance. âïžđ§
28/08Â â Sunday
I have 5 tests in the next 3 days (bio, chem kc, history, english and amath) and still only Ÿ through my revision OTL but Iâm determined to do well even if it kills me so might be another 3am night tonight!Â

currently using the april calendar lockscreen by @emmastudies that has featured it another of my posts! I adore it so much
Itâs getting a little tacky to balance all the subjects (although itâs just 4 of them) but Iâm lugging through not so greatly!
Sleep sacrifice is something I never thought Iâd do as a naĂŻve student, but I guess itâs just smthn I gotta do now else the pressureâs gonna eat me up alive! Anyone who has a choice please donât skip sleeping hours cuz youâll really miss sleeping once the semester gets heavy!
My silver lining? Avengers infinity war and tumblr! Oooh and biology â„

Goodmorning! Be as you wish to seem, thereâs nothing you canât do. Just put your mind to it, make ways to achieve your goal and life will give it to you. đđŒ
Whatâs your agenda for today? Mineâs some light reading and planning.
university tips
*from someone that survived her own first year of university
university is SO different from high school; a brilliant student in high school can be just a mediocre university student, and this is simply how it is when people from all over the country come together in a class.Â
so it is okay to stress, but only if afterwards youâre just trying your best! it doesnât matter how much you already know (though it helps), but how willing you are to learn! so, really, if you want to be there, you can make it!
make sure you eat properly; after a while, your body will start feeling gross and itâll eventually show in your capacity to do your work. go out, buy that extra meat, extra salads, extra fruits, at least every once in a while. itâs not luxury, itâs a need
go the extra mile. no matter how optional a task may be or how tongue-tied you feel on a particular day, put yourself out there. write that essay, do that projects, speak about your ideas. your teachers really appreciate it when they ask for interractions from students and they provide, and itâs nice to have your teacher know you by face and by actions. it might prove useful when theyâre grading you during the finals as well.
go to all (most) of your classes, no matter how optional the attendace is or how little you understand on the moment. in the long run, it will matter, and itâs super helpful to complete all your materials with the extra knowledge you got from the class. and no one and nothing will truly replace a teacherâs explanation.
try to make friends with those around you; most are probably just as lost and lonely as you are and itâs good to have people around you who can motivate you when youâre done or with whom to simply share the struggles of getting an education. sure, not everyone will like you, but those that will, make sure they can stick.
get involved in all the extra programmes that youâre interested in! youâre young and a student once! these opportunities are mostly a once in your lifetime thing! get out there and try everything: go to that book club, get your ass for the cinephile gathering, sign up for exchange programs, help out your teachers with their projects, do volunteer work! whatever floats your boat, but just do it!
also keep your eyes wide open to catch all the interesting lectures happening in your school. check those posters, check those subjects, check those dates and go. most of the times, youâll leave knowing much more and having something to think on.
do your reading and assignments ahead of time! you donât want it to be 2 dayss before your first exam, and you still have to finish essays and books.
the library really is your best friend! either as a study place or alternative to spending all your money on the source materials for your homework.
tidy up at least once a week; as school materials will start pile up, it will be harder and harder to find anything and youâll only just end up frustrated
no one knows you better than you do, so make sure to take only the amount of work you know you can do. itâs okay if you want to keep your first year as free as you can, so you have time to acommodate, and just as okay it is to try all the available classes if you can.Â
keep your facebook name your real one so people can find you. make sure youâre in every possible group within the first week of university, so you know whatâs going on. use said facebook groups to ask about teachers and classes, or find offers on used textbooks that are much cheaper than if you would have bought them yourself.
talk with the upperclassmen if you have questions, or simply for tips! really, it tickles our ego to have people actually interested in the experiences we have to share and most of us are more than happy to clear any misunderstandings or help you guys get a classroom right.
carry pills and proteine bars with you, especially if you spend a long time away from home! you never know when pain or hunger hits you, and it is better to be prepared than sorry.Â
it became a running joke at this point, i know, but right during the exam period youâll want to do everything you havenât done ever. so make sure you nurture your hobbies as well as your studies, and hopefully your interests are not too time consuming or at least require frequent/long breaks.
literally no one cares about how you look; so wear that make-up and nice clothes if you feel up for it, but if you donât, thatâs fine as well.
it will be done in the blink of an eye. so be true to yourself and your wishes, enjoy what youâre studying and, remember, you can do it!
âIt is the end of the coast, of the port, of those points where land and sea come into contact creating boundaries and thus knowing and limiting each other. [âŠ] Whereas land-based fundamentalism (the East) wedges the individual in the wall of âus,â preventing his departure and his beginning, sea-based fundamentalism (the West) prevents oneâs return to shore.Â
The individual becomes more and more individualistic, free and alone; he has the advantage of self-determination, but facing him is the rest of the world: Like William Gibsonâs Neuromancer, he could sleep in a house slightly larger than his body, a casket.â
Today at Studyblr, we're gonna do realtalk
This one is for all ex-toppers, âgiftedâ students, child prodigies, straight A kids who are now extremely perfectionist, under creative paralysis, now in college/high school and having never learnt to study, donât know how itâs done.
â Studying is absorbing knowledge. It is not âonly for the less intelligent.â Studying all year doesnât mean youâre stupid. It means youâre willing to learn.
â If you have never learnt how to study, you should now. Feynman technique, Cornell notes, pomodoro, whatever works for you.
â Chances are you have attention deficits. Sitting down to study for an hour must seem frightening. Itâs okay. Donât aim for hours. 25 mins.
â It is okay to ask for help. Meet your teachers. Ask how you can improve your grades. Try to analyse what youâre getting wrong.
â Offer to help. Once you learn your material, help friends understand. Let them quiz you. See, youâre still as smart as ever.
â You will still be good at the things you were. You will still be good at applying what you learn. For which, you should sit down and learn.
â Youâre not expected to be born knowning the avogadro number and Cattelâs theories of Intelligence. You can learn. Itâs okay if you didnât get it right the first time.
â Your younger Hermione self had a lot less to deal with. This is honestly okay. You can learn.
â Trust me on this. This took me years to realise. Itâs hard. But it can be done.

28/100 days of productivity // 4.14.18
Iâm spending this Saturday working on one of four (4) ten-page research papers. Iâm presenting what I have so far on this was on Tuesday so Iâm trying to finish up my presentation for that at the same time as I finish up my outline. I have one more proposal to submit and then itâs all outlining and writing for me until the end of the semester - with the exception of two last presentations.
Iâm feeling really good about my work this semester and I feel lucky to have the wonderful professors that I do.
