Wait…I thought ALOTO was already cancelled a long time ago…I’m still upset by it but I thought this was old news? Do you think once the strike gets sorted out there’s a chance?

ALOTO was actually renewed for a shortened 4 episode second season back in April! Which was… a slap in the face, but at least it was something. The s2 scripts were completed before the strikes even started. And then yesterday (August 18 2023), Amazon walked back on the deal and blamed it on the strikes, which is a lie. According to several people who worked on the show, they found out about the cancellation through the articles that day just like the fans.

The good news is that Sony owns the rights to the show, and according to Will Graham (the co-creator), they will be shopping the series. Of course, they can’t do that right now with the strikes going on and it’s unclear how long it will be before that changes. But there’s hope! All we can do right now is support the WGA and SAG-AFTRA, and continue to be vocal about the show and what it means to us
