hi! so i've been looking at eric carle, as per your recommendation, and if you don't mind sharing, were there any specific pieces of his that inspired you? i would imagine the hungry hungry caterpillar is one, as the classic it is. :3
I would say The Hungry Hungry Caterpillar was what made me want to attempt his style. (I remember standing in Target and staring at that book, and suddenly I was inspired)
I would suggest looking at the Carle Museum if you're still interested!
If you notice, my art style doesn't necessarily look one-to-one like his, but I enjoy the way his use of texture creates space and mass in a figure. His characters are not static, and the textures themselves create division and contrast, which I enjoy.
Hello! I find your art so inspiring, and Iāve always struggled with lineless art but Iāve always wanted to do the patterns that I see in your art because it truly is precious. Do you draw the patterns manually? Or are they a photo ash of stamps and such? Sorry if this seems weird Iām just so enamored by your work itās truly one in a million.
Not a weird question at all! Thank you for the kind words! I really appreciate it!
I recently did a commission, and they wanted me to record my process and upload it to YouTube, so here it is if you are interested!
(The photos that I use to create textures are photos that I've taken while traveling)
spent 2 weeks backpacking, came back, and my computer no longer worked. I have nothing backed up, so I had to reinstall PaintTool SAI, and all the textures I made are gone, soooooo this will be awkward....
I don't mind remaking the textures I made, but still....
here to say i think about your hawkfrost and brambleclaw comic almost daily and yeah. ueah it makes me feel funny yeah thank you for making my tummy feel wobbly with your comics its a very good feeling
thank you!!!
but I don't think I've ever made a comic about hawkfrost and brambleclaw haha
Swamp Princess with her beloved jester š š š
the way you use patterns and stamp-like brushes (i think) makes your art sosososooso uniquely and amazingly distinct, i never even considered some of the designs aspects you use. 1000/10 art
Wah! Thank you so much! It's just so much fun to put texture on things! As if I can reach out with my finger and feel the small groves of an impression!
This piece was the first time I ever tried anything with patterns; it was so much fun that I haven't really gone back since! Even though I basically use the same patterns and textures, it's fun to see how you can change a piece completely by stretching or giving something a small tweak.

Your poems are gorgeous. Thank you for sharing them. I especially love the ones in which you describe yourself going into bed and the moon giving kisses. It filled me with a sense of comfort and softness and a new perspective on the act of sleeping.
yay thank you so much!! I love writing so much its so fun to use words in such a dreamy and whimsical manner!
Morally grey Mousewhisker in my OC+ canon au universe
He teams up with splashtail, making him darktail levels of dangerous by teaching him things, Mousewhisker kills 4 people directly and many more indirectly, after losing hazeltail he lost his mind and was not well for a long time. The deaths of toadstep, berrynose, Rosepetal, and eventually daisy send him into a dangerous spiral. He regrets his actions in the end, he temporarily dies killing splashtail, he ends up in the dark forest but thanks to frostpaw/dawn and hazeltail he can get back to his body. He lives as an elder with Birchfall who has severe memory issues and ptsd, being his caretaker, they are both elders. Eventually he becomes a windclan elder after Flintstar (an evil leader that also changed thunderclans name to flint clan) drive them out along with his non supporters. He befriends a kit named rockkit and his sister Lightkit after the death of their sister pumpkinkit. The relationship between rockfall and Lighheart reminds mousewhisker of him and hazeltail. But Lightheart is killed by Flintstars successor poppystar, rockfall becomes depressed just like Mousewhisker was, he helps him and they become best friends. A bear that escaped a zoo was terrorizing windclan and at some point rockfall, Briarclaw, larchsnap, charredfoot, and Branchleap are about to be killed when Mousewhisker saves them by pushing himself and the bear in the water. He is dragged out and dies thinking he will go to the dark forest because of his past. He doesnāt and he is finally reunited with his beloved sister after so long..
Do what do you think of it, is it cool or nah
This is really fun!! I do see Mousewhisker ending up in the darkforest for a bit, so interesting! The horror that comes with the realization of where he is! The angst!
And in a loving manner my father patted the top of my head today.
I wonder if he has to remind himself to lift his arm a little higher just to reach my head.
Mousewhisker angst fuels my soul.. I imagine them as twins and that they were basically attached to eachother and were super close. I can only imagine how badly Mousewhisker reacted to her death. But it was never onscreen and I wish we got to see hazeltails death
So what do you think about Mousewhiskers reaction to hazeltails death?
OHHH!! So true!
Thereās actually a lot of Mousewhisker lore to unpack. He trained in the Dark Forest, which I like to headcanon as a choice he made because heās such an āaverage guyā type of character. To stand out from his siblings, he went somewhere extreme. Now, heās the only one left; both Berrynose and Hazeltail are gone.
I think itās mentioned in Daisyās Novella, but from what I remember, thatās about as far as the books take it. Even then, I donāt recall them really dwelling on Mousewhiskerās grief or portraying him as particularly affected by the loss of his siblings.
A while back, I made a PMV exploring Mousewhiskerās loneliness now that heās the last surviving sibling. And since he isnāt Clan-born, his sense of family feels especially fractured. He technically has half-siblings through Spiderleg and a niece and nephew through Berrynose, but the narrative never really explores those connections in any depth.
Iāve been wanting to start writing again, maybe standalone pieces that explore Mousewhisker as a whole. Thereās just so much to unpack with him, and heās genuinely such a fun character to think about.
