As a tumblr fiend, an americorps member, and an Obama fan, this is excellent. I can't wait to tune in! (Also blogging about close of round 1 and 2 about to start, coming soon)

Photos from spike one this far!
Meanwhile in Texas..
Okay so it's been a long while since I've posted! I'm here on first Spike and lets be real, it's been hard..like REALLY HARD. The living situation is iffy big in a cool location, and as support team leader the office I'm in hasn't really 100% known what to do with me. HOWEVER, I was driving around in my sexy fire truck red 15 passenger van the other day and if hit me..SUCK IT UP. When else will I ever have the experience to spend 2 months in a random city (conveniently located super close to Dallas) with 22 strangers?! Plus this week I feel like my skills are finally being utilized in the actual work place. All in all I have if good, and I love Texas far more then I thought I would. Being so close to the city allows for free concerts, amazzzzing volunteer opportunities, and sexy hipster men. While I'm taking the good with the bad, it's mostly been great and if I ever doubt it again all I need to do is go for a drive.
ZOMG.
So my training has ended and the training I've given others has ended and now we have 2 more weeks of training before we get to go into the field! I am beyond excited. These last 2 weeks have been rough for personal reasons. However, I found out on Tuesday that I am going to Denton Texas to work in their regional office! AHHHHH. I cannot wait to start actually taking action and getting stuff done. But first stop, MISSISSIPPI!

So it's been a month since I posted last, and that's because TLT has had me sooooo busy!! Ahhhh. Okay so all my fellow team leaders are amazing and my room mate is perfection. The training sessions each day have been hella long but over all these few weeks of training have flown by, I feel ready to rumble! I'm excited for corp members tomorrow; it's gonna be a long day shuttling to and from the airport but it's gonna be worth it to start these next 10 months and to get the ball rolling!
Ack!! I'm on my way to Denver today for FEMA Corp Team Leader training! I'm do excited!!! Hence my shameless airport picture...
Rafiki once told me that: "IT IS TIME"
So after weeks and weeks of not receiving my Team Leader acceptance packet, it FINALLLLLLLY came today (after much phone and email harassment on my part to NCCC headquarters).
Ack! so I still haven't received my packet, BUT I got my stuff to go get finger printed today, and so begins my shortened journey to Denver come this January.
and let me just tell you... I AM PUMPED!
