In German there is this word ‘Gänsemarsch‘ which means to walk behind one another and literally translates to ’goose march‘
And all I could think about were the High Kings of the Noldor
From left to right we have:
Finwë (Canada Goose)
Fëanor (Nënë Goose)
Maedhros (Red Breasted Goose)
Fingolfin (Brant Goose)
Fingon (Cape Barren Goose)
Turgon (Barnacle Goose)
Gil-Galad (Emperor Goose)
(Or should I say Goose Finwë, Fëahonk, Maedhonk, Fingoose, Fingoose II, Turgoose and Gil-Goose?)
No clue if this counts as they are geese.
It was a lot of fun tho
“I’ve been told by my producer not to do an impression of a peacock” 🦚
The dog days of summer are almost behind us! Despite what the name suggests, they were never really about dogs struggling through the heat.
The phrase comes from Sirius, the Dog Star, the brightest star in the constellation Canis Major. In the ancient Mediterranean world, Sirius’s appearance in the summer sky became associated with the season’s most intense heat.
This tiny garnet ring stone, made sometime between the 1st century BCE and 3rd century CE, depicts the head of Sirius—a fitting artifact for the final days of one of summer’s oldest expressions.

Please remember that almost everyone around you is traumatized. I didn’t understand this when I was younger. I wondered why people acted so strangely and irrationally. Maybe all children wonder this. The author Robert Anton Wilson said (paraphrasing), “We have never seen a completely sane adult human.” No one makes it out of this life alive. It’s not their fault. Mercy, kindness, forgiving — these are what makes one human. They are other names for love. People break in the strangest of ways.
“Under the present brutal and primitive conditions on this planet, every person you meet should be regarded as one of the walking wounded. we have never seen a man or woman not slightly deranged by either anxiety or grief. we have never seen a totally sane human being." — Robert Anton Wilson
Doggust day 8: Mail! I've been wanting to make something silly for my contact page for awhile. The frames were sketched digitally, painted traditionally.
Japanese summers are hot. I got a glass of water at my favorite soft-serve ice cream shop.
