An Eye For An Eye

As my Melkor has heterochromia I like to think that the reason Mairons sigil is a red eye is partly for the fact that Melkors right eye is red. The eye Mairon sees when standing next to him :)))

Yesterday a friend of mine told me to draw a donutman. What can I say one thing led to another so let me introduce you to the donutverse!

Where Celebrimdonut is a thing and all of the rings got replaced by donuts

ENJOY!!!

Here we have Gandalf, Elrond and Galadriel with their respective donuts. (Gandalf looks not so happy here. He probably got the one with raisins in it…)

Sauron will NOT be outdone here. The One Donut is not fried and consequently evil.

Only when it is cast into the fiery pit of mount doom can evil be destroyed for good…

Hii, uhm, I have a question... See, I'm also trying to draw Tolkien elves and I was wondering where you get inspiration for their clothes, hairstyles, and the like? I look through the art tag and always see the loose ponytail-esque hairstyle with a ring-like hairtie and was wondering what kind of fashion it's inspired by!

I hope this doesn't come off as rude or anything. I really am curious!

Clothing-wise I like to mix and match a lot. Whatever I like and what seems to fit culture-wise.

(For example the Noldor elves in Valinor would probably not wear anything too practical as they practically live in elf paradise and in peace, compared to the elves in middle earth that have to deal with Melkors creatures all the time)

For the patterns I take inspiration from the Peter Jackson movies although quite simplified as I don’t like a lot of detail if I am to draw a character often. (Wich I plan on doing especially with the Fëanorians) They also are a bit too airy and ethereal for the elves (especially from the silm) at least for my taste so I try to differentiate a bit from that.

As for the hair I draw for the Fëanorions, the beads are a personal headcanon of mine specifically for Fëanor and his family. As he is a smith I like the thought that he made them for his wife and his sons as a form of love language.

Generally speaking I see open or more loosely braided hair as a status symbol as it’s simply not practical and will get in the way during battle or when working in general.

But mostly I just use what I like and build my headcanons around that.

Soo I’m still working on the Fëanorions

I have to admit I’m not entirely sure I’m doing this correctly but well

Ok so I had a thought.

When Fëanor made the Silmarils he would probably have gone by trial and error considering that no one had managed to trap light in a stone before.

So he should have a few failed experiments lying around that didn’t work or didn’t glow that much idk

And the Arkenstone is, canonically speaking, not a Silmaril.

So what if Fëanor and sons took a few of these lesser stones with them to middle earth to trick Morgoth and get the real Silmarils back.

They didn’t succeed (obviously) but yk

Perhaps one of those stones got buried deep underground and was found later by the dwarves

Ok this is not silm or lotr related but the Nightfall in Middle Earth Album was the reason I started reading the silm at all…

A long, long time ago I started with a design for Aulë. I left a blank space next to him for his most lovely wife and then never actually drew her.

Until now.

Here is Yavanna in all her plant and tree-y glory.

Her husband is done with colored pencils but for Yavanna I used crayons. I haven’t touched those in forever but I do quite like the end result here.

I‘ve been having a lot on my mind lately so here is a happy Tom Bombadil. He’s hopping and dancing and singing through the woods. On his way home to bring flowers to his wife.

Also can we talk abt him shittalking the old willow man to get the hobbits out of the his bark? It’s like spraying a misbehaving cat with water from a spray bottle.

Wow it’s Friday already!

For the last day of @very-angbang-valentines‘ event Sauron realized that he hadn’t been kissed once since valentines day.

Time to rectify this!

This event was so much fun participating in!

I also really like the designs for those two fuckers so I think I’ll stick with them for now :)
