Thor doesn’t like feeling defeated. Especially when it comes to drinking. With this, though, he thinks that he might just have to give up. It’s not worth it. There’s no glory in drinking the whole thing, anyway, for starters. He offers the drink back out to Jordan, then. It’s up to her if she wants it back.

‘ I have never heard of this Lliira, I will admit. ’ He says this through a mouthful of apple, looking thoughtful. This isn’t exactly new to him; Thor comes across people with all sorts of gods and goddesses other than him and his all the time. He’d honestly thought that he’d seen all of them by now, though. It turns out there’s always more to learn, even for him. He swallows, then, and takes a swig of his drink before he says, ‘ I would like to know more? ’

A rodent and a con-man. You don’t see that every day -- in any of the realms. It’s ridiculous, actually, and it wipes the frown off of his face in a moment. The grin that replaces it is soon followed by laughter, and he shakes his head. ‘ You’re a tricky one, Rocket. Noted. ’ He’ll play his game, though. Thor waves a hand -- a sign to be patient -- as he turns and walks away. It isn’t long before he returns with exactly who Rocket asks for. Only, the second biggest guy here has brought his three other friends with him, each of them meaner and uglier than the last. ‘ This one says he can beat you with one hand tied behind his back. ’

she curls a fist and hits him in the bicep — not too gently, but certainly not anywhere hard enough to leave even the slightest of bruises. it’s playful, all in good fun. her chin tips back, and the valkyrie laughs heartily from deep in her chest, a genuine sort of unreservedness that had taken some time and an awful lot of chipping away to get to. ‘ take the compliment. i’m not saying it again. ’
‘ A compliment from the Valkyrie. ’ Thor may be grinning, but his heart is genuinely all aflutter. What can he say? This is a childhood dream being realised. Still, that punch of hers seems to have grounded him somewhat, and his grin is every bit as playful as she is, now. ‘ Are you quite well? Should I send for a doctor? ’

Thor isn’t really sure he’s the one to answer that question. Fate is a funny thing, at times, and he only really has the energy to understand the role it has to play in his own life. If he started caring about what it wanted for everybody else – especially those outside of Asgard – he’d have no time for anything else. So, he shrugs his shoulders.
‘ Maybe you have more to do in this world. It wasn’t your time. Why that is, you need to discover yourself. ’ He lets out a breath that sounds as if it wants to be a laugh, and smiles. ‘ You wanted a better answer. ’

It makes him wonder how many more of his friends have newer, smaller versions of themselves now. Has he really been away that long?

Capable as Stella might be -- as Stella is -- there are simply some things that no mortal should become involved in. He tries his best to look innocent as he steps further into the room, and finds somewhere to make himself comfortable. ‘ See? I’m only here to drink your -- What is it you drink, again? ’

‘ I’d hoped I would see you again. ’ He certainly sounds genuine enough, and the great smile on his face doesn’t do much harm either. Thor isn’t such a big fan of being tracked down by just about anybody but, fortunately for her, Peggy gets a free pass for having won him over. ‘ If you’re here about the trouble from earlier, you can tell your friends that I’ve dealt with it. ’ Not before making it worse, but he doesn’t mention that.

Ah, well that doesn’t surprise her. Of course she had noticed his armour and the air of a warrior about him, but she had also noticed his kindness, the softness about him ( that wasn’t just his hair– ) that put the people of a planet that wasn’t his own, first and foremost above everything. A protector of Earth, and Asgard, and all the realms in-between should they need it.

She answered with a bright grin, giving a shrug of a shoulder. She is totally not still internally freaking out about all this.
❝ So… you really are the god of thunder? ❞
Keep calm, Doctor. No need to fangirl over him.
She once visited Asgard, but it hadn’t been real. A planet-sized theme park based off of Asgard, but she had never truly seen the real thing before. Not until now, that was. And boy was she hella excited.
Thor cannot lie: he appreciates the awe. What can he say? It’s been a long time since the gods were venerated, since anybody believed that he was more than just a story. He’s missed being recognised for who -- and what -- he truly is. Maybe that explains his fondness for this Doctor, then, with all her strangeness and enthusiasm.
‘ Indeed. I am Thor himself. ’ Maybe he stands a little taller, sets his shoulders, tries to cut an impressive figure. He’s probably having too much fun with this but, honestly, after hundreds of years of quiet, Thor thinks he’s allowed. ‘ And I have Mjöllnir to prove it. -- But what of you, Doctor? You have no name, and you’re unlike anyone else I’ve ever met here. Who are you? ’

kassidy’s been in bad situations before. she’s had guns pointed at her, missiles chasing her ship, aliens threatening her in languages she doesn’t understand—but this is still pretty bad. bad enough that the display in her vision is warning her of her increasing heartrate. yeah, she knows, thanks. ❝ gungnir. good name, better than just ‘spear’. norse? ❞ kass only knows that because the computer in her brain told her. where is norseland? no matter, she’ll take it. she just kinda wishes it had warned her about potential danger here before she ended up in it.
if wishes were horses. not that she’s ever seen a real horse.
she takes a step backwards, weighing up the monetary value of this item verses the value of her own life. she’s pretty sure she knows which way she’s leaning. she likes to keep on living, thanks. her next step takes her away from tall, threatening man with hammer and back towards where she took this gungnir from. ❝ hammer’s an interesting choice of weapon. personally, i’d choose the sword. everyone uses blasters, where i’m from. there’s something…reliable about metal. ❞
She steps back and Thor steps forward. He’s more used to fighting giants than humans, but he will do as he must. Humans don’t make a habit of coming to Asgard, after all, and trying to steal from the gods. Either this one is very foolish or very, very brave. Probably both.
One thing is for certain, though: Thor isn’t going to let her get out of here while she still has Gungnir. Another step forward, then, with his jaw tensed and Mjöllnir lifting threateningly.
‘ Cease with your rambling. It will not save you, thief. Return the spear, and you may yet leave with your life. ’
