Memories May [closed]
āLookit lookit!ā Judar waved newly obtained wand at the rukh, āI can talk to you guys now!ā The rukh was of course delighted for their beloved child and fluttered around him in zippy happiness. Judar spun around laughing with them, waving his wand and watch the rukh flying in the direction he pointed. Little did the young magi know, that was already the beginning of learning to do magic. All he had to do was have the rukh physically manifest andā
A sudden shot of pure magoi leapt from his wand as he did another playful whip, the rukh going right along as he didnāt need to ask for them to do magic and gifted the oracle with power right away, plowing directly into the bath wall and scorching it. Thankfully⦠it wasnāt a large blast.
āā¦.Oopsā¦ā
A second later it seemed Falan was on him and drowning him in clothes. Judar thought at first that was his punishment, and given how the shifted him about as she got him all tied in he felt confident his answer was right. Once dressed, Judar looked at the odd tying of his robes, not quite understanding why Falan dressed him the way she did.
āYou dressed me wrong,ā he looked up at her, waving his freed arms.
If it wasnāt for the wand this later was a horrible caretaker. At least she wasnāt as scary looking as some of the others, but that wasnāt much to counter how bad she was at treating something as sacred as a magiāat least in his opinion.
Falan didnāt appear to give it much mind though and continued on with his lesson, which Judar was all too happy to forgive her for and eagerly follow blindly.
He settled into the water, turning around to look up at Falan as she towered above him speaking.
āYou may be a Magi, but Iām not expecting you to know much so far.. If you can raise your borg without trouble, then Iāll skip that and weāll move to the next thing.ā
āA borg is that magical egg thing Ithnan sits in so he canāt be hit right?ā Judar asked, not sure of what the actual term was. Undoubtedly Ithnan had told him this, but Judar being Judar, and at the age of 5 had the attention span of an insect.
Falan watched him as he waved his arms around, laughing and talking to the rukh, her gaze softening a bit as his behavior reminded her of Tess. As the child played around with his wand and the rukh, she let her mind wander back to her son for a little bit, remembering how he was when he would see magic or how he acted whenever he was super happy.
When she heard the blast of magoi hit the wall, she snapped out of her memory and looked at the wall where it had been hit, putting her face in her hands and shaking her head.Ā ā... Well...... There are other people that work in this palace that will fix that, so donāt worry.ā Could she fix it with magic? Probably. Was she going to? Absolutely not.
āI didnāt dress you wrong, I dressed you how I did so that your robes wonāt get wet from the water because I donāt want to hear you complain about it.ā Raising her head from her hands, she looked down at the child.Ā āYou gathered the rukh together at the tip of your wand, and shoot out pure magoi. Even though the strength of it was rather week, you are able to see what it does.ā As she spoke her last sentence, she gestured towards the wall.Ā āYou can shoot pure magoi at other magicians and Magi, but being that they have a borg, the attack will be cancelled out.ā
ā...... Not exactly.. Being a Magi, your borg is naturally stronger than mine. Itās the gathering of the rukh around a magician to protect them from any attacks that have ill intents behind them... For example, say you did something that would mean you needed to be punished, if I went to slap you, your borg would raise itself and protect you, blocking my hand from hurting you.ā
It was becoming more clear to her that he didnāt really remember anything that the other members had tried to teach him about magic. This would definitely be a long learning process.
