I haven't been on this blog because my fall semester was incredibly hectic and difficult. I went from taking 1 class per semester to taking 3, and gosh. It was a Lot to deal with.

But I'm back to just 1 class for spring semester, it'll be Learning Frameworks so hopefully it helps with things like time management and study strategies.

"First" post here, I posted art of Sailor Moon but decided this acc should be a study acc.

So I'm currently in my "first year" in community college (been here longer but taking classes slowly). Right now I'm a Liberal Arts major going for an associates degree, and I think I want to pursue a bachelors? But I would have to transfer to a different school for that.

I want to be an author eventually but I know that will require not only a lot of work but also tons of luck to actually get any income from, so I want to have a more solid job while working on writing.

I talked to my advisor and they said that Liberal Arts should be good to get my basics done, but whenever I come into a new class and we all introduce ourselves, I'm the only one with this major. Sure there's some general Business majors, but I've encountered Dance, Nursing, Engineering, and Math majors, along with soooo many other interesting specialized fields. I just feel super... unfocused.

I had a very hard time in high school and had to withdraw from my previous college due to mental illness and chronic health problems, but since I started here last fall I've kept up a 4.0 GPA and am in a much safer place mentally.

I took an introductory Speech class over the summer and I really feel like I got a lot out of it, and I'm considering studying Communication? There isn't an Associates in that here but it can be a Field of Study, though I don't really know what that means (is that like a minor?).

It's past midnight now, but in the morning I think I'll email my former Speech professor and ask her some questions about studying Communication.

I haven't been posting here because busy busy busy, but I am popping in to say I'm doing very well in my math class! I just took a remote exam and I feel GREAT about it. I might? Have gotten a 100? We'll see 🙈

Hi studyblr! I haven't kept up with this blog because class and work were a A Lot, along with the fact that my medications are being tweaked right now so my brain is in a state of flux. A ton of stressful things were going on too and just, oof.

But! I just finished my first semester of community college! I made a 92 in Composition 1! (That was the only class I was taking.) I really, really wanted to make an A and I did it!!

For spring semester, I'm taking a math class with a developmental math refresher. Since it had been so long since I did school (I graduated HS 9 years ago!), I remembered barely any math and ended up not passing the placement test I took back in August. But I was surprised at how much I did right, since I was expecting to totally bomb it when really I just barely failed. I think I could do well in this class!

I'm registered and paid up for next semester, just finished this semester. After math I'll likely take comp 2 and see if I can get the same professor I had previously for comp 1. I'll also try to take more than just the one class, as I don't want to keep sticking with just one at a time.

I lost a family member yesterday and that definitely puts a damper on my spirits, but I'm trying to stay positive about the good things in my life while mourning. The person I lost would not want me to focus only on my sadness, I'm sure. She was very happy that I was back in school and doing so well, so the best thing I can do for her memory is continue doing my best.

In class we compared and contrasted the trailers of the original and new Dune films. Still have no interest in the new one but now I want to watch the old one!
