Imagine Gibbs reassuring Tony that he did the right thing.

“Hey, it’s okay, you know,” Gibbs assured Tony.

“I shot a guy,” Tony said. “I don’t usually-”

“I know,” Gibbs cut him off. “You only did it to protect me,” he reminded.

“He was going to-”

“I know,” Gibbs said again. “And you stopped him.” Tony was still shaken up, but he’d get through it. They both knew that. Gibbs placed a quick kiss on Tony’s forehead and left him. He’d be alright. They both would.
