What Isabel Gonzalez-Whitaker is Wearing to the Golden Globes

"This is a dress that has been in our family for several decades, having been handmade for a dear and gorgeous relative who used to model in NYC and for the high end department stores in Atlanta, where I grew up. Her name was Connie and she had exquisite taste. It’s silk jersey and lined (never underestimate the importance of lining) and features a ruching and halter style on top and a belt tie. It drapes the hips and then kicks out on the bottom a la a Ginger Rogers gown.

Since the dress has a relaxed structure I opted for modern, architectural accessories: Tibi sandals with a coppery upper, a Jason Wu studded box clutch (courtesy of InStyle Style Director Melissa Rubini), and gold/brass cuffs by the artist and designer Herve van der Straeten from the luscious jewel box of a site IsabelleK.com.
