"He was as noble and as fair in face as an elf-lord, as strong as a warrior, as wise as a wizard, as venerable as a king of dwarves, and as kind as summer."
Tidalhaired - an independent Elrond Half-Elven. Penned by Moon (she/her, 30+)
This portrayal is based on the books (The Silmarillion, The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit). While Book-canon takes presedence over any adaptations, I enjoy some of their aspects and will weave them into my portrayal as I see fit, making this mixed canon. Very The Rings of Power friendly.

Rules under the cut:
Elrond is a deeply complex character with an intricate family tree and a rich history. He is a scholar first and warrior last, a healer and a lord, a nurturer and loremaster. He is wise and kind but never passive, willing to fight for what is right, even when it pains him. Though friendly, he stands firm when necessary.
He is also a diplomat and a strategist, balancing wisdom with action. Elrond bears the weight of centuries and carries both personal loss and the responsibility of guiding Middle-earth through turbulent times.
He is a father and a mentor, offering both gentle encouragement and firm counsel. Though his heart is vast and compassionate, he is not easily deceived. His foresight and experience grants him a keen understanding of both people and fate.
Elrond is a protector and the bedrock of hope in Tolkien's narrative. Whether offering sanctuary in Rivendell or standing against darkness, his strength lies in his unwavering commitment to preserving the good in the world.

This is a selective blog, I only write threads with mutuals. Everyone is welcome to send me asks, regardless of mutual status.
I love crossovers! Even if I’m unfamiliar with your muse’s fandom, it only makes the interaction more authentic. After all, I’ll know just as much as Elrond does.
The best way to start an interaction with me is by sending me memes! Please don’t reblog memes from me, reblog them from the original source instead.
I love plotting! Feel free to drop into my IMs if you want to brainstorm something together.
Dear personal and non-RP blogs: Please don’t reblog my threads. It’s not fair to my writing partners. Thank you!
I'm pretty flexible with timelines. Things can get complicated, but I'm always open to bending the rules and just getting things done without overthinking it.
I'm open to any romantic shipping! The beauty of RP is the unpredictability, you never know what might develop. If you have a ship in mind from the start, just let me know, and we can work out a fun plot together. Elrond’s sexual orientation can best be summed up as: he loves life.
I don’t have any personal triggers, but I make sure to tag common ones like spiders, gore, etc.
Duplicates are more than welcome! Even though we all draw from the same source material, our interpretations are unique. That said, I understand not everyone is comfortable with duplicates, so I won’t follow other Elronds first, but I’m happy to follow back.
I'm pretty sure Galadriel and Celeborn are the only couple where we are informed that they are exact the same height - aka very very tall - and everyone still gets it wrong
It's not rhubarb but Kili made an attempt at a lattice crust on the blueberry pie
"It looks delicious!" Elrond carefully broke said lattice crust with his fork and dipped it into the fluffy ocean of blueberries. It was already beautiful visiually, with the many shades of blue on the glossy little fruits. Then his lips closed around a generous piece on the fork and his brows rose in instant approval. "It also tastes delicious. Thank you, Kili. Unfortunately this means I now expect more pies."
Fordo stands, gingerly, from the bed on which he sat, following Elrond to the window and his gaze to the star. The tale of Eärendil as it is described in short is at first preposterous to him, something from the mythology of the planet's ancient history. That a man—an elf, rather, the capabilities of which he would need to investigate—could claim to have first hand account of such a foundational myth?
And yet, there is a wistful look in the elf's eyes and truthful quality to his voice that Fordo cannot deny. Perhaps in falling to the sea, he has traveled not only in space, but in time as well. Something else is at play in this world. He was not attuned to the Force, but he had long since learned to recognize its signs, and in this valley, they were everywhere.
But again, the matter of his ship. As he recalled, the malfunctions it had suffered in the upper atmosphere were not catastrophic in nature, rather a suspiciously ill-timed failure of the engines and maneuvering systems. His star yacht was Nubian in design, aerodynamic, and had pierced the water's surface like a diving bird, sinking safely to the ocean floor. He had assumed it did, anyway, as he had leapt from the airlock in mid-air, clutching an inflatable raft that would further fail to deploy. That evening was a cascading sequence of failures that he would never forget.
So: repairable? Possibly. He has faith the ship's hull integrity would hold long enough for him to figure out how to retrieve it, yet if any critical components were damaged in the crash, it did not look at a glance like this civilization had the means to recreate them.
"My vessel is mechanical in nature, constructed of many exotic metals." Fordo shakes his head weakly. "It's too early to speculate until I've seen the damage." He looks back to the night sky, and Gil-Estel. "But should I live to see this through, perhaps I'll pay your father a visit."
"I have faith," Elrond encouraged. He practically saw the gears turn inside the man's head, and could only imagine how difficult it must be to be stranded somewhere without a way back home. "There is much we can do. Once your ship flies once more, I may join you for a ride to greet him myself."
Even if Elrond would not even know where to start when it came to all the questions he had for Eärendil. There was so much he wished to say. It was hard to believe that they never exchanged a proper sentence before. "My father is but a stranger to me, and yet so beloved by all Elves. It is not always easy to share him in this way."
Moving back from the window to the bed where he had treated Fordo on, Elrond gestured towards it. "You should lay back down now. I mended what I can and your body will do the rest. Sleep a little, and I will have Círdan come visit so that the two of you can reconstruct the exact place where your ship sank." It sank so deeply, a mere glance over the ocean will not yield any results.
As he gave Fordo time to lay down, Elrond took a seat close to the bed, by a table full of little bowls filled with herbs and liquids, as well as vials with all sorts of colourful contents. He clearly intended to keep working on more medicine during Fordo's rest.
Firmly of the opinion that Elrond iconography is a mainstay of Middle-earth's art history/visual culture. Greco-roman style Numenorian statues of the Immortal Brother, pietá of him and Elros with Elrond as the Mother Mary figure cradling his dead twin's body, paintings of him as an ugly medieval-esque baby, one hundred million depictions of the abduction by Maglor and Maedhros, rough stone/wood figurines from Mannish villages where Elrond passed by a couple hundred years ago and cured the plague and has now become a folkloric god.
All this to say, the biggest collector of all this Elrond memorabilia is, in fact, Maglor, and once Elrond sails its value shoots up and he rakes in a fortune re-selling pieces to collectors and antique dealers. Arwen figures out pretty quickly who this mysterious beach-bum bard with an enormous collection of her father's merch is and she's seething. She thinks it's so crass and distasteful but she can't do anything about it because unfortunately, Maglor's biggest buyer is none other than Aragorn himself.
"A sister they had, Galadriel, most beautiful of all the house of Finwë; her hair was lit with gold as though it had caught in a mesh the radiance of Laurelin."
