you told me that daisies
are your favorite flower
and i had to fight the urge
to plant a bouquet
of them in my lungs.
i want to cough up
petals and stems
when you smile at me.
i want to be so full of
your favorite things
that i forget how to breathe.

Simone de Beauvoir, from Diary of a Philosophy Student: Volume 1, 1926-27
Text ID: I observe how much I have matured since last year despite my belief that I was losing myself, how something strong was born from the painful experiences survived and from the numerous minutes that I believed were wasted.

what i mean to say is
how are you
and when i say how are you
what i mean to say is
i miss you
and when i say i miss you
what i mean to say is
i love you
and when i say i love you
what i mean to say is
i wish that i didn't

Fools’ Games
I am tired of being the fool.
I am tired of being the used.
I am tired of being the hurt.
I am exhausted.
Tired of trusting, of opening up and being vulnerable, being weak.
The price of being suggestible and tossed around like I mean nothing.
I’m not worth staying, I’m not worth being loved, I’m not worth being cared about.
No one gives a damn.
I am not deserving.
The price I’d pay for someone to not leave me in the dust.
People are a never-ending cycle of eventual pain and disappointment.
This is why I’m the fool.
I play this game of no winning,
Falling over and over again for its twisted cards.
The game of life is cruel and sick.
In this game of life, being hurt is inevitable.
Once you push others away so they cannot harm you,
The loneliness kicks in and you’re suffering even more.
Sometimes to escape the misery is to no longer play.
Playtime’s over, I am not a fool, I refuse.
