Hi hello yes, please excuse me as I do a little work on this blog to establish a generic fantasy world verse that is going to become the default main verse for my three children here!!

I’m going on vacation!!! Gods I really need this… Anyways I’ll be gone from October 15 to October 22! After which I should be back not only on my multi-muse and it’s side blogs, but my Marc & Morgan blog as well!

For as forward and flirtatious as Llyr can be, he’s a gentleman above all else. It’s not Llyr’s goal to make people awkward and uncomfortable to the point of being unable to be around him, and so he does actually take other’s reactions into consideration.

Also his hands don’t creep or wander, and he tends to give a warning of some sort, usually an “excuse me” or “well then”, before touching a woman anywhere other than her hands or shoulders. After the first rejection of physical affection from anyone he is strictly hands off from then on out until told otherwise by the person who rejected him.

researching 17th century piracy tonight. came across this:

One popular pastime amongst pirates was the mock trial.  Each man played a part be it jailer, lawyer, judge, juror, or hangman.  This sham court arrested, tried, convicted, and “carried out” the sentence to the amusement of all. (x)

how widespread could this have really been? how would it have gotten passed from ship to ship? can you imagine a pirate crew at a tavern, bragging to another pirate crew about how good they are at playing pretend? why was their go-to game “legal system”? were they performing incisive satire? is this some sort of pirates-only inside joke that’s been lost to the ages?

ok but it’s got to have been a lot of fun to be the pirate defense lawyer, for the pirate accused of piracy, to attempt to argue to the pirate judge, in front of a jury of pirate peers, that your client could not possibly be a pirate

 — The last part was mumbled a bit as he sighed, crossing his arms and squinting at the others. He was beyond strange to sage and he also had quite the mouth - not that sage wasn’t also mouthy with people. Sage scoffed softly and averted his eyes elsewhere now and brought one of his hands up to his teal hair and played with it.

     —— ❝ If anything, you talk strange and look strange ! I at least don’t use terms like land walker ❞

          “Manakete?” Varun’s eyes narrowed at the unfamiliar term. He was aware that there was another type of land walker, beast men who were somewhat decent, but he had never cared enough to look into the subspecies of them. It had also been so long since he’s met a beast man that he had thought they had finally taken a page from the water’s people, and removed themselves to a place where land walkers, humans he supposed he should call them, could not bother them. 

          “You say you don’t understand such a simple term, and yet you explain it perfectly. Are you that simple?" Even the crew was able to catch onto that term, and they were no scholars. “Regardless it is not a matter of whether you can or not, walking on land is nothing special, it is a matter of birthright. There are those born to walk on land, those born to the sky, and those who remain beneath the waves.” Why he was explaining this even vaguely Varun wasn’t sure, but it wasn’t like he was losing anything for it. Well save for maybe patience or intelligence. “Amazingly only those who are born to land are generic enough to have such a broad term used for them.” That and many who walked land couldn’t agree on what to call themselves even when of the same species.

While all three of the guys have exceptional hearing due to being people of the ocean, Varun’s hearing is better than Llyr’s, and Aegir’s is the best of all three of them. Under the ocean most humans would find that sound is muffled and quieter, however for the guys everything sounds crystal clear. In the cases of Varun and Aegir they can even pick up on more distant sounds and higher frequencies used by sea mammals to communicate.

This makes crowded places incredibly uncomfortable for the merfolk and dragon born princes, and so the two of them tend to avoid such areas if they can help it. While they’ve learned to tune out certain sounds depending on volume and distance, it still doesn’t change the fact that it can be quite overwhelming for them at times and can cause them to appear ill. 

Members of The Dragon’s Treasure crew all learn to speak in lower volumes while below deck creating a quieter environment inside the ship than one would expect. While it’s not as much of a worry above deck the crew is notably quieter than most other ship crews, especially when Aegir is aboard. It’s a gesture from the crew that the three appreciate.

Aegir, with the best hearing of the three, has the worst time on land. Land Walker cities are quite overwhelming and more often than not while in one Aegir has some level of headache the whole time. Generally speaking when the ship is docked in a port the Dragon Born remains on board during the day, usually below deck to muffle the noise of the city, but will go and explore in the evening or early night as it’s less noisy. Taverns are places he doesn’t like to go into if he can help it, the volume of noise causing him almost instantly feel ill.

Varun’s hearing isn’t quite as good as his brother’s so sound doesn’t effect him as badly. He can go into human cities for a few hours during the day when they’re busy. Though eventually he will start getting a headache, and too much noise is still prone to making him feel ill. What Varun has going for him though is that on land he is chair bound, and due to this doesn’t usually go unaccompanied into populated places. If Varun starts to feel too unwell due to too much noise he will have his companion take him back to the ship.

‘I’ve got a surprise for you,’ he said. ‘It’ll be fun,’ he said. While she couldn’t deny that the view was nice, part of the boat ride felt amiss. She knew he wasn’t completely human, so why bring her onto a boat when he could do the things he could do?

She’s not expecting the kiss to the forehead. And she’s definitely not expecting him to literally jump overboard with her in his arms. Her jerk reaction to hold her breath is met with laughter, and after a moment Kanami slowly opens one eye. Then the other.

“You dummy, I ca-!” Her surprised gasp bubbles up towards the surface as her mouth drops open. She was talking. And breathing. But she was clearly underwater. “What the heck?! How?! What did you do?!” Was she going to die in exchange for this? Would it surprise her coming from him?

          Moving forward in the water was as effortless as walking on land for him, turning around to face the girl before bowing playfully, “Little lady you have received a blessing of the water god!” His speech was overly grand as he announced that told with a wide mischievous grin, “It will allow you to breathe normally, and explore the ocean’s depths with me today.”

           His wide grin lessened to more of a casual smile, “You don’t have to worry about anything. All I did was move a part of my own blessing to you, think of it as a miracle and have fun.” He said before offering her a hand, “Before we go any deeper though, let’s make sure you can move.” Llyr knew she wouldn’t be as fast as he, being both unused to the water and having never had to swim as a land walker does before. He knew that he could pull her along to help speed her up, but it was still important that she be able to do it herself.
