Knightly AU: How does Noelle imagine the endgame? As in, does she ever think about things like "Okay at some point i have to worry about getting Berdly back to normal... How do i do that?" Or does she repress that thought, as much as possible, because she fears that nothing could ever bring her friend back to normal?

Most definitely leaning more towards the later.

The situation in how I imagine it unfolding is that in an attempt to break herself from Kris/the players control, she gets her hands on a Pure Crystal and makes the Twisted Sword herself (it LOWERS trace, after all). Then she goes to the hospital, attempts to break Berdly out of the ice but in doing so with so much determination it basically makes a dark fountain within Berdly and he becomes... well like that.

If there is a way to reverse it, she doesn't know but she would like to figure it out once she also gets Kris "back to normal". For now, it's a way Berdly can assist her. It's very delusionary, but it's what's pushing them both forward. A chance to make things right.

Speaking of the Knightly au, how exactly do you imagine the transformation has affected Berdly? Is he the same guy mentally, just spooky looking and probably unhappy about not being able to go home. Or does getting all Kight-ified have significant impacts on his personality/memory/etc?

This is very much a Berdly with the smartassness mask dropped and loyalty to protect his friends at full force. He seems a bit more stoic, but that’s probably because he’s a lot quieter (not by choice most likely)

As far as what he remembers from his past life, I would imagine most of it is a haze, but his last fight is what he can remember most clearly and it’s ringing in his head.

If he would have done something different, said something different, was even just a bit stronger… maybe he could have saved Noelle. But he couldn’t. And he payed the price.

Now that he’s back (and in a strange, much stronger body) he has one more chance to make things right. Protect his friend in a way he couldn’t before. He’ll keep her safe this time… he promised.
