A toxicology report for #SandraBland has noted the cause of death was due to as asphyxiation which was result of strangulation. According to the report, lacerations on Bland’s neck were consistent with those of a “choke out”. In cases of asphyxiation, death occurs because of the deprivation of oxygen. Earlier reports claim Sandra Bland’s death was the result of suicide by hanging. According to Dr. Brian Burgess, a pathologist assigned to the case, Bland’s death was definitely a homocide. “For one, the police reports were inconsistent and the #toxicology exam further confirms my analysis. A full #autoposy is scheduled to fully conclude our findings”, says Burgess. Along with the jugular lacerations, the report also notes scars on her hands which indicate a violent struggle and also scars on the arms and legs.
