Worthy enough? He mulls over the other King’s words for a second, ignoring his presence completely. Now that he actually thought about it, he didn’t have a slightest idea how these chains worked and what they were — surely not mere iron, as that would be easy to break. Yet, no matter how much he tugged, they wouldn’t budge. It seemed like his strength alone wasn’t enough to get out of the strange restraints; and so, he’d have to come up with something else.
Distracted with his own thoughts, even if he did react in time, there wasn’t much space to maneuver himself out of this. He withdraws his other hand as much as he can, stepping to the side to delay it for one, useless second, but that seems to be the limit of his allowed movement — second arm soon restrained as well. Gritting his teeth in obvious annoyance, he turns his head back to the approaching man, one eyebrow quirked up.
“What is the purpose of telling me this? Do you truly expect my gratitude?” Honestly, he would’ve preferred to continue fighting — even if put at an disadvantage, in his long years of continuous clashes against other heroes and Kings alike, he had learned that there was a way out of every situation.
Assuming you weren’t bound and immobilized.
Expecting death as soon as Gilgamesh got closer, after hearing his words, he briefly wonders if that wouldn’t be the preferable outcome. He’s pretty sure any knight would rather die than be humiliated like this, anyway.
“Ha — have you no shame? Asking a King to serve you? My loyalty lies with my master; the answer is, quite obviously, no.”
A low chuckle rumbles at the back of his throat, actually materializing a cup and pitcher and pouring himself a drink before setting the container away and tipping his cup against his lips. He wasn't worried about him getting out, in fact, just because of his endearing defiance he's going to make the chains coil a little tighter around the bound limbs.
How easy it'd be to kill him right now, but what would be the fun in that? He obviously would have preferred to die than endure this -- so he's going to deny him that pleasure.
"I do, actually. Because you know as well as I do that I don't have to lift a finger to kill you right now." Not that it would be considered much of a threat, really, if he wanted to die anyway then he'd simply be granting his wish. Keeping him where he was is definitely a better option until he grows tired of it.
Unless, of course, he manages to actually escape the chains.
But for now he's quite content in making the man before him feel just how useless he is in his current situation. He did say that he was going to show him his superiority over the King of Knights after all, so he wants to let it settle in that thick head of his until he gets the point.
"There is no need for two Kings."
"With you serving under my command, we could easily unite this divided world into one once more and rule over it like I have before. It was a much simpler time back then -- now the mongrels have become far too arrogant with their consumption and it is ruining my garden."
