you wake up in bed next to him.

he’s already awake, sitting with his head against the headboard.

looking at you.

all shiny, brown eyes

and fuzzy, fluffy hair.

you snuggle close, still half-asleep just to lay your head on his hips, leaving soft kisses over his tattoos.

he laughs softly. still thinking you’ll just continue to sleep, until you say it — against his hipbone…

“hi, beauty king. g’mornin’,”

“hi,” kisses your forehead. “good morning my beautiful queen. ‘d you sleep well?”

the look on his face, his body language and now his voice all tell you: he’s feeling anxious.

you hum a muffled “yes.”

he kisses your hair at least six times.

you stay breathing together, quietly.

until you break the silence to ask him how his all-nighter studio session went the prior night…

“how was it last night… at the all-nighter? did you get to have any fun?”

“um… kind of. had shots with the guys, had some despicable thai food as well… the guys went out to do whatever, i stayed for a bit more with wales then i came over.”

he’s caressing your head, drawing circles and lines on your forehead.

you hum slowly. he continues, “and you, huh? what about you, love? how was it with your friends? was isaac there too?”

you sigh, stretching out your arms. “he was… it was good. pretty good. i wanna know about you, though. tell me all about how it went with you. i wanna know.”

he nods three times. ponders like he hasn’t been planning the whole morning on how and what to tell you about the new track without spoiling too much details. “um… we came up with a concept. audio-wise. now we know how it’s goin’ to sound rather than just do it all and just… end up nowhere decided… eunseo wanted something edgy with pop layers, it ended up bein’ three against one — one vote for him, three to a new concept,” he kisses your head.

he lets out a breathy laugh, whispers into your hair, “i’m not telin’ you it yet, though…”

you turn to look at him.

he smiles faintly, caressing one side of your face. “need steadier foundation. that’s all,” pecks your chin then lips. the kiss that follows is quiet and soft, “cannot wait to tell you more. think you’ll love it.”

“who are you producing with? i forgot.”

“new guy. he’s bringing in new ideas, a whole new energy too. the guys are suspecting but he seems solid.”

“i wanna meet him then. give you the verdict.” he holds your face with both hands then kisses your neck, lips trailing up to your lips.
