The fact that a lot of the older magical creatures in the Surtr Explodes AU most likely speak some version of Old Norse implies the necessity of ON dubs of popular human television shows and movies.
Okay but who’s to say that Heimdall wasn’t killed by a very blind Loki crashing the boat into him and killing them both?
Something that I don’t see talked about a lot is that realistically, every member of the Æsir is fairly strong, just by virtue of most of them needing to do the same intense farm work as humans on account of the whole “needing to eat food” thing, even if they aren’t active warriors. Doesn’t necessarily correlate with fighting skill but they’re at least somewhat active.
I think that Frigg and Freyja would be unlikely friends. There’s the Lokasenna scene, but also, girlbosses stick together.
Been reading a lot of fanfiction again and something that sticks out to me is that writers seem to be allergic to a Loki that isn’t 42069 steps ahead of everyone else and also way smarter and cooler and hotter and more interesting than every other member of the Æsir, and even as a Loki fan, it’s fucking annoying watching pretentious writers bend over backwards to explain why everything Loki does is 100000% intentional and his goals are just soooo beyond your feeble normie understanding, and he’s just too darn subversive and morally gray for basic logic and common sense oppressive traditional thinking.
Like, it’s bad and stinky to have Loki make terrible decisions due to his own poor judgement because it’s not ~subversive~ enough and Loki has to be the hottest, most spiritually enlightened and whimsical person in the room, so you have to railroad him into making all the terrible decisions he makes without ever once implying that he’s not 100% in control and happy with the outcome, which has the unintended side effect of making him operate on insane troll logic because the writer is now tasked with coming up with a convincing reason for why he actually wanted his mouth stitched shut the whole time.
And also, everything is everyone else’s fault, because Loki is special and unique and nobody understands him, and definitely not for any real reasons. They bound Loki because he was ~subversive~ and ~punk~ and not because he killed a guy, started a massive fight and confessed to murder in front of everyone. This isn’t the consequences of his actions, Loki’s just a poor little hippie who’s too ahead of his time for all these normie losers.

Neil Gaiman The Rapist is currently suing one of the women he raped for speaking up about it. Any money you give to him is funding this cruel & traumatic harassment, and any promotion/attention on his work is indirectly giving him money.
