- can only be within a certain distance of oscar. - he’s still a complete lil shit that can and Will scare the students and play tricks on them - his form isn’t physical by default, but he can use his magic to make it physical for short amounts of time, which replaces taking control of oscar’s body.  - the only time he completely isn’t visible to anyone  ( including oscar )  is after That event in S6 when he locks himself away. - at first his appearance is the same as it was before he died, but his outfit changes after he returns to oscar.

ozpin alt verse things bc im bad at writing things up properly //

– he was fatally injured after the fight with cinder. used what little he had left of magic to keep himself alive and stop his soul’s transfer, but caught it seconds too late. half of his soul was passed onto oscar, the other half kept with him.

– long memory was left behind for qrow to find, in order to help whoever had half of his soul, he wanted them to have the weapon – knowing he was too weak to fight anyway. in long memory’s absence, ozpin uses ‘mizar’, a long sword he used before becoming the next incarnation. 

– as oscar has half of his soul, he can communicate with him. as time passes they are able to hear each other’s thoughts, and can see each other’s memories. 

– the first time ozpin catches up with the team is during the battle of haven. he show up mid-fight like the dramatic idiot he is, and uses what strength he has regained to help fight off salem’s team.

– although he uses long memory during part of that fight, he otherwise lets oscar keep hold of it. later he offers to build him a weapon of his choice, either a new version of long memory or a different type of weapon. 

– due to only having half a soul and not being fully recovered, ozpin is relatively weak. he’ll try stay out of fights where he can, but helps when it’s needed. due to the injuries left from cinder, he has a visible limp in his right leg. 

– when in atlas, he has to spend most of the time recovering. he’s present for some parts, but travelling so far only drained him further. i’ll write a whole other thing on v7 events, but ozpin doesn’t hate ironwood for what he’s doing. he’s scared, feels helpless, but he knows everyone’s just trying to do what they think is right. even if he disagrees.
