Beach of Veli Žal by Tim Ertl Via Flickr: A personal favourite in between all the beautiful beaches in Croatia. The beach of Veli Žal on Dugi Otok is very close to Božava. Quite a steep road down the hill coming from the main road, the Veli Žal stretches out. A long pebble beach, enough parking places and a very wild romantic bars in the shades are on offer. Wild campers even made those Robinson Cruso shelters on the beach, inviting you to spend a night there. The beach is particularly perfect for swimming and snorkeling as there is no deep water with a very nice sandy floor, giving your underwater experience an extra touch.
