So I finally finished this lot and ended up leaving the name Southwestern but added Modern to it.

UPDATE: So it turns out some people are having a problem loading the lot. We have found the problem is this object [HA]3to2_Mesh_EP07_lightingFloorFairyNatural_SA
To fix it you need to take it out of your downloads then try load the lot again. if you get into the lot the light will be missing so you will find a maxis light in place of it. Its on the porch at the back of the lot.
I will be posting pictures of each room in the next few days with more detail.
Play tested lot and everything seems okay.

Business Owners Can Be Baristas
In the vanilla game, if a business owner or family member attempted to work as a barista at the University espresso bar on their owned business lot, the game wouldn’t correctly set the espresso bar as having a barista and would stop customers from queuing up for coffee. This mod fixes that.

This is a 4to2 conversions from Icemunmun, low poly, all recolors. There aren't all the recipes in this machine. I added just these ones:

Invisible Chessboard & Board Games - for The Sims 2
I made an invisible chessboard as a new object (not default) so your sims can "pretend" playing multiple games.
It looks like an OMSP with an invisible recolor. The arrows will help you place the two chairs correctly.
First, place it on the ground together with two chairs. After they slide into position, you can place one of the deco board games I converted (or any other deco board you already have in your game) on a table of your choice. Then place the table on the square and voilà! Even the chess pieces will be invisible.
You can find the deco games under Hobby-Miscellaneous. I also converted some of the game boxes. The invisible chessboard can be found in the same category as the original chessboard.
Board games are from Aroundthesims, low poly.

Cat's Wrap Skirts For Males
A collab with @deedee-sims! If you can call me whining for things a collab lol.
Dee converted the alpha skirt mesh originally by Trapping for males, and I slapped CatOfEvilGenious' wrap skirt textures on it. Comes in the 16 original recolors for TM, AM, and EM, other ages are repo'd to the adult files (no standalone version this time, sorry). The meshes have appropriate morphs.
Download (SFS) (alternate) - files are compressed. Categorized as everyday, formal, and outerwear.
I was only interested in doing the wrap skirts for now but the original alpha skirt has a good variety of recolors and textures that will work nicely on this conversion too. Feel free to use this mesh for them!
The shoes that Dee also beautifully fitted for males are biker boots by Pixicat, converted to TS2 by @skeleton-teacup. Credit to everyone mentioned :)
Trimmable Bonsai Plant (A Collab With Episims)
@episims and myself teamed up to make a cool little object - a plant converted from Sims 4 that can be trimmed into different shapes!
There are 10 shapes in total, 9 pretty ones and 1 failed. First 5 basic shapes are available with any nature enthusiasm while others appear after reaching level 5.
Trimming and viewing the bonsai gives a sim nature enthusiasm (can be trimmed by teens and up but children can still view it). Bad mood may result in failed trimming shape (pay attention to sim's reaction when that happens) and viewing this miserable plant looks funny ;) In 2 days the plant will overgrow and you can trim it again.
The bonsai comes with all the original pot and stand recolors and can be found under Hobbies/Misc for 210 simoleons.
Polycount: ranging from 781 to 1623 polys Texture sizes: 128x128, 256x256 and 512x256
Translations available: FR/RU

A collab with @tvickiesims 🤗 the season of candles is upon us, so we bring you a conversion of TS4 Candle Crafting Station – as a functional crafting station!
With this station, your sims can craft candles that give light but work differently than regular lamps, as they gradually consume as they burn and become disposable after burning out.
🛍️ Make candles: Builds creativity and arts & crafts enthusiasm. New candles are available at creativity skill levels 2, 4, and 6. Crafted candles are sellable on OFB businesses, when crafted on business lots they go to the business owner's inventory.
You can direct your sim to craft a single candle or to make many at once. At the start of crafting, you get to choose the recolor and rename the selected candle. If the sim stops crafting before finishing the candle the material cost is returned.
🕯️ Light up candles: Your sims get to enjoy candlelight, but only while the candle can burn! More expensive candles burn longer than cheaper ones. The candlelight turns slightly dimmer over time, especially just before the candle goes out completely.
If you want the candle to last longer, you can direct your sim to put it out at any point while it still burns and light it up again later 😎
The Sacred Candle that becomes available to craft at creativity level 6 isn't a part of TS4 candle crafting station, but Vickie converted it from Paranormal and we gave it a special ability; every now and then it'll boost the comfort of nearby sims. The more you have Sacred Candles burning nearby, the bigger the boost.

The crafting station is located under hobbies/misc for §550. Its polycount is 2052 and the main texture is 1024x1024. The station has a Russian translation.
⚠️ All the candle files are required for the crafting station to work. The shadow file by @lordcrumps is required by all objects and is included (but as usual, you only need one).
The candles are only available through crafting so they don't appear in the catalog. Their polycounts are around 100–500, the plain ones have 128x128 textures and the patterned ones 256x256.
Credit to @deedee-sims for the woodwork bench and @nixedsims for the anvil code which were used as a starting point to make this custom station, even though most of the code got rewritten so it's not a direct clone anymore.
Childish Adults Love Playgrounds
…And Athletic Adults Enjoy Monkey Bars
Okay, maybe not the most informative headline ever.
It’s a mod that incorporates Squinge’s Playground Enabled For Adults and makes most playground objects (swings included) autonomously usable only for adults who have the childish trait. Monkey bars are autonomously usable for adults with the athletic trait instead, although childish adults might still hang on them if a playground has those.
All the playground objects will be enabled for all adult sims, and they can be still directed to use those - most just won’t do it autonomously. Children and teens will use them as before, regardless of what traits they have.
Download (SFS) (alternate) - Easy Inventory Check and the traits are required. Conflicts with the Squinge’s original mod (linked above) as well as with their no autonomous using swing mod and Pescado’s nobogartingswings. Please let me know if you find more conflicts or experience any other problems.

Update (24.1.2021): Fixed a typo in Squinge’s incorporated mod that prevented children from being able to use slides and lookout towers.
寿司！すし！Sushi! And Gatchapon too!
I converted these for my sushi restaurant and the gatchapon was kinda on a whim cause I like gatchapon (only the idea, not actually using it! especially on those mobile dating games that I don’t play anymore! ¬.¬)
The sushi stuff are originally for Sims 3 by Alban, made for Mura Sushi bar apparently. The site is long gone but there’s some sort of a record here. I got my files from Ohmysims’s sushi restaurant. The gatchapon is by @noiranddarkSims, also for Sims 3.
Anyway…
Sushi conveyor belt - I’ll start with the bad news. It’s 11K poly. Yes, 11K poly. That’s the price of all those cute plates and round nice sushi. That’s why I made an extra version, the one in the second picture. I removed a bunch of the plates and that lowered the poly count to 7.4K. So the deal is like this:
There are three versions. One is the main sushi conveyor. Second is the lower poly one using the SAME GUID! meaning you can only keep one. Both of them are masters, so it doesn’t matter which you keep. The third is a slave version of the lower poly conveyor, so you can have both of the versions if you intend to keep the 11K poly mesh. The filenames are super clear, so don’t just throw everything in and only keep what you need!
Nigiri Sushi - that’s the one that’s orange-white on the left side, in case you’re not a sushi expert. This one is 1.4K poly and is slaved to the main conveyor (either the full plates or less plates work, as I said.) There’s an extra red recolour for this one that works both for the conveyor and the wooden plate thingy.
Futomaki Sushi - that’s the one on the right that’s wrapped up in seaweed. It’s 2K poly and is also slaved, same deal.
Gatchapon - the blue thingy. These are usually outside shops in Japan, you put a coin in and get a random prize. It’s 7.5K poly unfortunately, but for one or two on a lot it’s fine by me. :D
Note that the sushi conveyor is floodfilled cause I don’t see why not, and the sushi themselves are “photoskinned”/realistic, since I remapped the entire thing and retextured it using images from Google. Just look at the closeup it’s so cute! Feel free to make recolours and more variations of the sushi! it’s actually super easy! The wood texture on the Nigiri and Futomaki Sushi is by Maxis (from Ikea I believe.)

Sims 2 Mod Requests?
Putting this out into the ether for a chance... are there any ts2 modders out there or anyone know of modders who take requests? I have so many cool ideas that could be practical to make, but i am not a techy person so have failed at trying to teach myself how to make mods.
Some of my ideas if they peak anyone's interest..
Hostess table hacked object to allow "Plan Menu" to be an option that always shows (with custom foods showing up). Only way to achieve this now is to have a sim buy the restaurant and change the menu as the owner, which is not very convenient. This would be so nice to choose to have only authentic foods at places. I hate if I have a Chinese restaurant and sims can still eat hamburgers, or I have a diner and sims can have lobster thermidor.
"Do Homework With". If you have 2 kids or 2 teens in the same house, they can do their homework together.
Secret Society Lodge in main hood. After sims graduate college, if they were secret society members, they automatically receive a "hobby card" that allows access to a secret lot in the main hood. Would function similarly to the secret hobby lots. If you graduate townies that were in SS in college and are in the main hood bin or homes, they will automatically populate the SS Lodge. Networking and influence have higher gains when at the Lodge, could also have other perks. I think it is such a shame that SS gets totally dropped after they graduate, it is such a fun concept.
More autonomous social phone call outings- but you do not go with your sim. This would be like the travel tours where things happen in the background but you do not go with your sim. I have a ton of ideas for this one and they could all have relationship increase/ decrease and chance cards, a few are:
- Teens and children get invited to another kid or teen friend's house for a birthday party. Pop up option to choose a gift to give from sims inventory. If it is a kid, you will choose one of your parents to go with you, teens go alone.
-Kid sims will call other kids "Do you want to come over to play?". If you parent sim has a best friend who has another kid, that parent can call and ask "Does {name of kid} want to come over to my house for a playdate with {their child}?".
-Teens can ask teen friends "Do you want to come over to hang out. "
-Kids and teens can be invited to sleep over friend's, grandparent's, or cousin's house. Grandparent- "Hi deary, we miss you, would you like to come sleep over tonight? I will make you my special grandma's comfort soup!"
-In the summer kids and teens can be invited to go swimming. In the winter it would be ice skating. Roller skating and bowling could be an random roll for all seasons.
