I find myself so torn between being upset with, and appreciating the fact that Aziraphale and Crowley didn't kiss in the finale.
On the one hand, I'm a huge believer that romantic relationships (and especially ineffable relstionships) do not need to involve a kiss in order to be appreciated properly or considered canon. As an aromantic (and someone who headcanons both the husbands as on the aroace spectrum) it's incredibly important to me that we consider love in a more nuanced way than society has hardwired us to, and I think that going from a frantic, desperate kiss in season 2, to a soft, gentle almost-kiss at the end was really beautiful.
On the other hand the entire thing reeks of heteronormativity, and the desire to give queer people the barest minimum in terms of representation and expect them to be grateful for it. It isn't unreasonable for fans to want them to be more explicitly romantic after all they've went through to get to this moment. I don't think that we should have to be grateful because at least they showed their wedding ring. They left all the romance to be off screen and up to interpretation. They didn't even let them say "I love you". We as fans of the series are allowed, and deserve to be angry that we didn't get more.
💕were you good💕
And they really thought they ate with this ending like it’s so crazy…
