Announcement
Due to the new season being released, and the fact that we now know a lot more about “Tinker,” and thus making this blog basically non cannon indefinitely, I will be moving to another blog called @moonlighttinkered which is a more cannon compliant blog for Tinker, or now known as Ethari.
While I will remain active on this blog for about another month or so, I will slowly begin switching my attention and RPs to that blog instead.

16: after having a nightmare.
The night was cold, Tinker stood outside shivering like a lost puppy in nothing but his night clothes and a jacket.
He didn’t know what exactly brought him here, at his boss’ house in the middle of the night but… it felt right. Especially after a powerful nightmare made it near impossible for him to back to sleep. “Um… can I come in?” He asked quietly, ducking his head and looking away in embarrassment.
“What did you have in mind?” she asked, wanting to know where they should work from.
"I'm pretty good at setting things on fire!" He offered up, "Maybe start with trying to make things... go into smaller flames?" A moment after, he deflated with a sigh. "Okay bad idea. I have no idea where to start but.. I don't exactly know if I can channel heat through my body on command. Or at all, really but..." he trailed off, thinking.

Caye’n nodded as she sipped her hand-heated coffee. It came so easy to her, but it was only because she had lifetimes to perfect her talents. “Okay, I would like to remind you of an obvious thing: you have only had these abilities for at most a day or two. And how capable of a person were you at two days old?”
She went into the fridge for an egg. “It will take time to learn control and practice will aid you. Do not get discouraged for not understanding a thing at the first try.”
“I’ve actually had this for two weeks.” Tinker admitted with embarrassment. The coffee actually cooled a bit as he glanced away, practically hiding his face in his scarf.
“My apologies for assuming, but the statement stands,” Caye’n stated.
Tinker gave an almost begging look. "Can we start with something a bit easier to do?"

*wraps her arms around you* *lays her head on your shoulder* *sleepily* Hi.
Tired, little one? *carries you to the sofa and settles down*
*nods against your shoulder* Yeah... *yawns* Do you know any bed time stories?
*hums quietly, thinking* I know a few stories. What kind would you like to hear?

“The coffee has gone cold, unfortunately,” she said, pouring out a cup for each of them. “That’s your first lesson: start small.”
“… warm a cup of coffee?” He asked, hesitantly beginning to remove his gloves, then stuff them in his pocket. “Okay, I can do that.” At least he hoped so..
He opened a hand, then willed a flame to rise. At first, it was too big and, in a moment of light panic, the tip of it lashed around before Tinker managed to make it recede to a tiny flicker. It… actually took more concentration than just summoning the flame…
He picked up his own cup with his hand, then held it over the flame he created, focusing as best he could to keep the flame controlled.
“You got the right idea, but the idea is to channel warmth through your hands so you’re not actually creating a flame, but controlling the heat,” she demonstrated with her own hands holding her mug.
“Um…” The flame flickered out, then died. He gave her a look if confusion. “You sure? I think the other idea was working…” he gave a quiet sigh, before placing both hands on the coffee cup with a nervous frown.
“It takes control to create a nurturing heat without ignition of flame. Give it a try.”
After a moment of simply looking over the cup, he took a breath, then closed his eyes to concentrate. It had to be similar to starting a fire! Right?
He was trying, really he was, but as soon as he started to summon a flame while simultaneously trying not to summon a flame, said flame burst up around the cup, and Tinker gave a yelp, barely restraining from dropping from the cup.
Luckily, separating the fire from the cup was as simple as removing the cup from the fire hand, but still he was more than a little peeved as he set the now slightly discolored cup onto the counter while he crushed the fire from existence. "There is absolutely no way I can just summon heat without a fire!" He huffed out, patting out a stray fire on his scarf. "They're like- they go hand in hand!"

*Pounces at you* Looks like I captured my prey," Said Corvus huskily
Tinker laughed quietly, “Looks like you did.” he hummed, leaning into the touch. “What ever will I do?”
Corvus rubs his face playfully on the back of Tinks neck,” For being cute,” He wraps his arms around his waist, bringing him closer.
Tinker positioned his head carefully so he wouldn't stab Corvus in the eye with his horns, then placed a kiss on the man's cheek. "Well I suppose I cannot change that.."

“Feeling anything means you’re alive,” Tyson remarked, Caye’n going over to Tink and hugging him, her natural warmth washing over him.
“I run very warm,” Caye’n assured him.
Had Tinker been a little more confident or less awkward, he probably would’ve hugged back, or at least press against the heat. But Tinker, being Tinker, he instead froze- literally his body temperature dropped momentarily- and he stood still like ice with surprised eyes.
After a moment, he coughed awkwardly, then retreated from the contact. “Thanks.” He managed. “I- I should go. Sorry for bothering you two this late.” He made his way to the door, then added “I’ll see you tomorrow!” In a bright, fake tone, before leaving.
“I mean it when I say we’ve got your back any time you need it. Just a call ahead for the next time so we can have the cocoa all ready for your arrival,” Tyson smiled as Caye’n let Tinker go. She could tell the hug was going a bit long, though her ideal hug was about ten hours.
The next day
Caye’n had a pot of coffee made up that morning, that she left off the burner until it went to a lukewarm temperature.
This time, Tinker had at least called announcing that he was coming over before he showed up, so he did feel a little more confident as he knocked on the door once again. This time, though, he was at least dressed in something a lot less showing than just night clothes…
…A lot less showing…
Despite the cold from the night before, the day was relatively warm. Too warm for what Tinker was wearing, which was essentially three thick jackets and at least two layers if gloves. He barely made a sound when he knocked on the door, having to rely on the doorbell instead. He looked like a diabetic marshmallow, truth be told.
Once the door opened, Tinker gave a nervous smile and a wave. “Um.. hey. I- accidentally set a tree on fire outside before I left the house today sooo this is just a precaution.”
“Well, come on in out of the cold, my diabetic marshmallow friend…” Caye’n smiled, wearing a cozy pair of sweatpants and a button up flannel that was half open at the bottom. “I have prepared coffee.”
Tinker smiled and nodded with a 'thanks' before slipping inside. He stood in a similar position as he had the night before, straight and awkward with an obvious attempt not to touch anything. He wasn't fazed by what she was wearing, almost seeming to not notice in his own attempt to stay covered up. As it was, his own face was the only skin showing. He really didn't want to set anything on fire.

“… no… I’m tired… let me sleep… I don’t want to get up.” Tinker gave a soft whine, turning over and snuggling into his blanket with a hum. ~Tinkeringfire
“Come on Tink it’s daybreak which means the sun is up -kind of. And you promised me you’ll get up early so we can go hunting together!” Corvus wined trying to shove the Sunfire elf from the bed. He was small but he was a lot heavier than he looked! Corvus sighed as Tink barely budge. How can anyone be cute and annoying at the same time?
Tinker laughed quietly, before pulling Corvus in for a soft kiss. Once he pulled away again, he responded. “It’s alright. It may be abother thing elves have that humans don’t. Like a dog and a horse.”
Corvus laughed melting into the kiss,”Don’t worry a few more rounds with you I’ll surly keep up,” He smiled playfully slinking his arm around Tinker’s thighs and grabbing his ass, he kissed Tinker again.
Tinker nearly jumped once he was grabbed, but relaxed and kissed back. He once again broke the kiss to breathe a moment later. “Does this mean we don’t have to go hunting after all?”
Corvus broke into a laugh,” Count yourself lucky Firefly, I can’t feel my lower body half anymore and no way I have the strength to go hunting!” He chuckled playfully biting Tinker’s lips, “It’s a good thing I brought us dried meat, bread, and granola to keep us sustained for a while.”
Tinker paused, then gave a whine and drew back. “Not bread…” he mumbled, practically pouting. “It goes bad easy and it’s dry..”
“But love, I baked it specially for you! It has tons of garlic and spices with red pepper flakes. I even brought that piping hot Xadian sauce you like so much.” He implored poking Tink’s cheek. He was so adorable when he pouts.
The sunfire’s ears twitched a moment, before he sighed and pressed into Corvus’ hand. “.. fine.” He mumbled, still pouting.
When he mentioned food, Corvus’s stomach growled, “We missed breakfast hehe,” He chuckled, “Are you hungry?”
Tinker gave another whine, cuddling into Corvus’ side. “No, don’t move.”
Corvus groaned, cuddly Tink was the worst he couldn’t resist his Firefly. “Fine,” He murmured sleepily, wrapping his arms around him and pulling the elf closer to his chest. “But you’re in charge of hunting tomorrow, there’s no way I’m getting up after all this!”
Tinker lifted his head, giving another pout and a whine, but saying nothing.
