Haruka made the strangest face at Tino’s description of her brother — which was to say, he didn’t really react at all, staring at her like he had no idea what she meant. Those “hor-moon" things were as much a mystery to him as they were to her. ‘… your brother sounds nice,’ he agreed after a moment, smile returning in easy transition. ‘I’m sure he loves you a lot.’
Down came his pencil, spreading more tulips from right to left. It was slow going, but the more they talked, the bigger the field became.
'If your brother works a lot…' he continued gently, the scrape of his pencil almost louder than his voice. 'Do you want to do what he does, Tino? What do you want to be when you grow up?'
The tiny spirit rubbed at her chin, ruminating over the question. People had asked her that before, and her answer had changed many times. Now would be no different, "I want to dance! Up on the stage. I'd wear a pretty flowing dress and everyone would clap for me." She pressed her hands against her cheeks, trying to contain her own enthusiasm the only way she subconsciously knew how to.
"What about you, Haruka? What do you want to do when you grow up!" He wasn't an adult yet, right? So he still had time to figure out what he wanted to do. Maybe not as much as Tino but still!
