So. Because my tumblr url has now been shared under his community post several times, this goes to the Drow Historian fans who will now come to my blog to look at the 'jerk who ruined their favourite dnd youtuber's channel".

Even though he framed it like that on his post, it was NOT only me. It's false. I'm not the only artist affected by this, we were more than a dozen who had our art taken without being asked or credited. It was small Legend of Drizzt artists, as well as big names in the bg3 community. And all of them took action, not just me. I'm just being made into the scapegoat now because I was the first to address this situation.

And just so you're aware. I know that the Legend of Drizzt characters do not belong to me. I never stated that anywhere. But the art that I draw myself, does. It belongs to me. Even if it is fanart, it doesn't give anyone the right to just take it and use it for their own (monetized) purposes. It also doesn't matter what you might think of my art now, if its ugly or bad, it was still taken without my consent.

All of this could have been avoided if he simply issued an apology to the affected artists. If you cannot simply give credit to people's creations, it's on you. It's your fault. Don't expect artists to just be okay with it

Seen so much fucking AI slop of Jarlaxle recently and like it is offensive on the levels of art theft and fucking the environment up irreversibly. But also offensive on the level that Jarlaxle has good fucking taste and would be personally offended to be fed into the slop machine. That man would be commissioning so many oil paintings that he would be single handedly feeding half of the artists in Luskan and you do this to him

Hey everyone. A kind friend reached out to me and informed me that the youtuber "The Drow Historian", who's known for using a lot of genAI imagery in his videos, is now also using art from artists in the community. There's pieces by @pidgeydraws and me, and neither of us were ever approached or asked for permission by him to use our art.

There's tons of art by other artists in the community. From two videos alone (these: 1. 2.) I gathered these artists:

@imagazhiraga , @the-nothing-maker , @luthierscurse , @epiclad and several others, though they don't have tumblr I think.

this is just unacceptable behaviour, this guy is definitely earning money and cannot even ask the people who breathe life into the community for permission. Some of these artworks used are commissioned pieces as well, by @estellisa and @khaytiefari

disclaimer for everyone in the Legend of Drizzt fandom here, there's a blog called @/cogtea who keeps posting AI art of Artemis and Jarlaxle, don't engage with their posts

I'm not sure if it's the same person, but I suspect it is. @/whellk1 is still posting AI generated images of them, which is absolutely annoying and we do not tolerate this behaviour in this fandom. If you come across these posts, do not interact with it, it's a disservice to each of us artists who pour our hearts into the art we create of them. Stop flooding the tags with your slop and go pick up a pencil instead
