I'm sad that I missed out on SpringFest this year. We just got new recruits over at TOWER and Sam's been busy... So busy that she wasn't able to attend the graduation and induction ceremonies here at Inkblot Art Academy.

And given the new year has begun at Inkblot, I've been teaching a lot more. (Thankfully TOWER doesn't require me to come into the office anymore because of reasons I would rather keep personal...)

If anyone wants to come say hello, I'm in the Mari Seashelley Building, Room 8A, near the Performing Arts center. I'd love to meet any new budding musicians that need advice for the industry!

SplatCon 2 has begun!

Me and my partner Samantha are going to be hosting a panel on Fandom in Music. We're both musicians with TOWER RECORDS (the music label), but we're just as much geekfish as you guys are!

If you're interested in learning how music contributes to the experience of your favorite filets of media, we'll be in the Turban Shell Stage at 10:30!

Seats are first-come, first-serve.

(Otherwise, you can spot me in the Musicians Tent helping with costumes and - hopefully - getting a small concert spot. My manager still hasn't said anything about that...)

Forgive me for ranting a little bit here, but I need some feedback.

Things have been a little messy here at home, given the whole Salmonid situation? Given some of our subjects still work for Grizzco, it's always given a little strain between us and He Who Ferociously Rules The Tide (the local Salmonid school leader).

And sadly, I'm not one to say anything either, because working for Grizzco helped me get a taste for independent work. I've always tried to not rely on the Octarian Treasury for any of my expenses (even if I am entitled to a stipend... but I get that because I'm *his* daughter, not because I earned it on my own merits... I get called a nepo baby sometimes because of it).

I'm trying to do better for them and myself, but I feel like I'm kinda hooking them in the mouth still being stuck in my Grizzco contract. I might need to get one of Dad's lawyers to help me quit...

... Although I feel guilty for it, none of the other employment lawyers will take my case. Being *his* kid is apparently too much risk for them.

Wet Floor is a bit overrated.

Nothing against those guys... Just their fanbase is a bit garbo.

(Not that mine is any better... It's just a bunch of skirtchasers who wanna see if my ink matches my Splat Zone. Blegh.)

Staying at a friend's place in Splatsville during Splatfest. ALL the chocolate shops are sold the fuck out... Which sucks because I was gonna bring something back for my girlfriend. (Sorry, sweetie!)

I ended up joining Team Dark Chocolate while here because I don't have much of a sweet tooth. Haven't gone to Mincemeat for a Tricolor yet though......
