People die on the job every summer. Remember that water and shade breaks are crucial when working in the heat, and calling emergency services for signs of serious heat illness (fatigue, nausea/vomiting, headaches, dizziness, clammy skin, confusion, agitation, slurred speech, high body temperature, rapid heart rate, etc.) is entirely appropriate. If youāre afraid to call 911 for reasons such as being undocumented, youāll need to get very familiar with how to prevent, recognize, and treat heat illness. If you are symptomatic and not allowed a break, water, or medical treatment, walk out. No matter how broke you are, your job is not worth your life.
Official please put yourself first sign
Sheād rather die than be separated from her friends. I trust you Susie deltarune. Hopecore
since becoming a barista i have noticed a few very distinct typologies among my customers. such as:
the woke left: young and fashionable. visible tattoos. often enjoys matcha, lavender flavoring, oat milk, and cold foam. pretty decent customers.
sweet old man: drinks very sweet iced lattes, pays in cash, puts all of his change in the tip jar. sometimes orders hot coffee and i get scared that his shaky old man hands will spill it and he'll get burned but that has not yet happened and god willing never shall.
evil old man: only wants drip coffee and declares it ridiculous that any other form of coffee exists. some variants only want americanos and these variants are even scarier. watch out.
sweet old woman: might need her daughter's help to order but is very bubbly and open to trying new things. compliments baristas freely and frequently.
evil old woman: does not want coffee and only wants sweet tea or soda. will not tip even if she spends three hours in the shop repeatedly asking baristas to fetch things for her.
errand husband: either stiltedly recites an order to you or shows you the order in their texts/notes app. needs to step out of line and make a phone call if you ask any follow-up questions.
grindset girlie: always wearing scrubs, an apron, and/or a name tag. orders the exact same thing every day and knows the exact change she'll need to pay for it. her regular order is both extremely caffeinated and extremely sweet.
#mamabear: is actively wrangling two to four children while ordering. order changes repeatedly because the children cannot decide if they want a muffin or a cookie or apple juice or chocolate milk etc. for some reason these women are always wearing an article of clothing or carrying some personalized item that says "mama" on it.
schoolchildren: band of two to eight adolescents hanging out after school. extremely indecisive but generally quite polite and tip well.
amnesiac in love: grown adult who needs their partner to tell them what they like. gets asked a question about their own preferences and turns to their partner to answer for them. generally acts like a shy child looking to their guardian for behavioral cues if you try to interact with them and only wants to talk to mommy i mean their wife.
this of course is not an exhaustive list but those are just some of the most consistent Types i get. ok bye xoxo
I am sick. this sucks balls. my will is made of iron but my immune system couldn't keep up. I'm going to eat a pop tart and sulk for the rest of the day
I had a creatively enriching day instead. can't even sulk right
It's utterly magnetic when a character's rage is quiet and precise. When they don't scream and throw things but they just b r e a t h e and very very calmly aim their fury like an arrow shooting inexorably towards the target of their wrath. It captures my attention, I lean in close, I wait for the hit. It never disappoints.
my lesbian clown girls
Normal American Guy: have you seen what these "transgenders" are sexualizing? they're reenacting childhood experiences. it's disgusting and un-american.
Every Good Ol' American Rock Song: šøš¤ I can't stress enough how much this girl is underage šø š¶
People love natives in such a superficial way. People wanna stand with natives when weāre talking about the trees, and the land. People wanna stand with natives when we talk about philosophies of love and togetherness. But as soon as itās time to talk about political side of being native. About dismantling a system built on the genocide of our people. About how we need a new system that isnāt built upon capital gain and benefitting white bodies. About putting up a fight. About how the colonial state we reside in is a disgusting imperial plague on this land. Suddenly yāall donāt wanna talk native.
"They spent hundreds of years trying to assimilate my ancestors, trying to create indians like me, who could blend in, but now they donāt want me either. They canāt make up their minds.
They want buckskin and face paint, drumming, songs in languages they canāt understand recorded for them but with English subtitles, of course. They want educated, well spoken, but not too smart. Christian, well behaved, never question. They want to learn the history of the people, but not the ones that are here now, waving signs in their faces, asking them for clean drinking water, asking them why their women are going missing, asking them why their land is being ruined.
They want fantastical stories of Indians thatĀ usedĀ to roam this land. They want my culture behind glass in a museum.
But they donāt want me." -Shelby Lisk

Clark Kent finally goes to get therapy but the only person who knows both of his identities AND is in any way actually qualified is Harley Quinn
They're staring each other down in some bland ass room painted a soothing blue like
Clark: ... This HAS to be some sort of conflict of interest
Harley: aww not to worry Supes I'm totally profresh
Clark: that's not actually that reassuring
Clark starting to try and open up even though that usually requires an emotional crowbar: it's just... isolating, sometimes. There's not really any one person that is in the same position as me and it's... Hard
Harley: well that's why we have emotional support networks rather than just one person! I know I'm your position it's especially hard to build that up, but you've done a rather impressive job so far. I mean, you break it down, and Lolo may be your wife, but she's not gonna know everything you go through, nor should she have to. She understands your workplace stresses, the justice league is there for hero stuff, Diana gets being powerful enough to scare people, Kara and J'onn are both in the last survivors boat, and when it comes to the complications of balancing identities, Brucie will be there. The best part of all this is that you also don't have to be everything to any one person, which is something you seem ta struggle with.
Clark: oh. You're... good at this?
Harley: I fuckin told ya I was
This is accurate and needs to happen

i dont have an obsession
I do
It's always "stop harming yourself or we'll have to lock you up!!!" and never "what do you need to change to want to harm yourself less and how can we help you make some of these changes?" and that's why we're not getting anywhere
