ive decided for some reason unknowable to god or man that the best way to implement a FEAR-style player character model where your arms move around all first person camera style but they're still attached to your shoulders which are more fixed in place is "fucking around with inverse kinematics in the godot 4.6 beta". working surprisingly okay so far except for how the character's elbows keep twisting around 180 degrees but nobody's perfect and it's rude to stare
added a neat little grid-based inventory to this bad boy so you can pick up things from the floor and put them in your backpack, or take things out of your backpack and throw them on the floor
i hate the stupid judgemental monks on the vinegar i buy every time i do laundry or make salad dressing i see these guys and it makes me feel like i just said something stupid at the banquet and all the revelry came to a grinding halt so they could give me this fucking look
okay so the fact of the matter is - im this guy
BIONICLE art by Eryk Wygnowski
seeing the resentment and projection that so often accompanies this particular mode of relating to "faggotry" (qua transfemininity, đ€«đ€«đ€«) by guys like Kadji Amin laid out neatly by Kadji Amin is kind of clarifying
does anybody remember that short story The Pill by meg elison. interesting valence nowadays
RCP8.5/SSP5-8.5 is off the table, climate change will be inside of 4.0C instead of outside it. there's still a range of horrific possible outcomes (SSP4 seems underdiscussed in IPCC impact reports, feel free to speculate wildly as to why) but it kind of seems like china's renewables push has substantially bumped up the % chance of human civilisation continuing to exist on planet earth
âall language is approximationâ believers when my autistic ass finally weaves together the exact right linguistic phrase that conveys pure information and shatters qualia as we know it
incredible things are happening in china, vis-a-vis crazy techno bangers
having a sensible chuckle thinking about tara knight prompting the ai on her computer "please write an essay complaining about my ex, who was always posting on the computer too much to do the dishes" and then posting it. on the computer
hold on i just gotta smear this goop on me
okay so the fact of the matter is - im this guy
handful of problems with that "there are no psychopaths" essay people are posting. obviously it's worth problematising an idea like "psychopathy", and the nâ5000 systematic review co-authored by the author Rasmus Rosenberg Larsen is an interesting step in that direction, but the essay's argument would be strengthened if it would mention things like "another nâ15000 systematic review found there apparently is actually a correlation with 'psychopathy-measuring' metrics and lower empathy metrics" (the study itself admits "empirical findings on the relationship between empathy and psychopathy are more heterogeneous than one might expect" so it could be easily integrated!) or perhaps if it would mention the concept of "recidivism" even once, considering that one of the strongest arguments for the usage of the PCL-R as a statistical tool (within current carceral frameworks, mutatis mutandis) is that it consistently predicts violent recidivism across a variety of populations. also i found it kind of disingenuous how the article brings up the replication crisis in psychology when it wants to discredit articles that would appear to show some sort of pro-"psychopathy is real" empirical findings, but then wants the reader to ignore the replication crisis when it comes to, say, RR Larsen's own work (although, to go for a cheap shot, maybe it's easier to smugly opine about the trouble with testable predictions when most of your original research has titles like "More phenomenology in psychiatry? Applied ontology as a method towards integration"). oh, what's that, the author has a book out? fascinating
i thought the worst thing on the planet was people decontextualising the laura palmer screaming in the car FWWM gif but i just saw someone post the laura palmer screaming in the car FWWM gif but with digital bleedthrough from the other shot of leland palmer in the car also screaming and you know what,
wait holy shit the new xiu xiu covers album has a rowland s howard track lmao
lets fucking GO
