Author's Note:
So my sister and I have been working on this AU for possibly 2 years now? Or maybe I'm being dramatic, but a very long time. We have an entire discord with every little note on this family like their our own OC's. She has been begging for me to write this AU, so I hope I'm doing her justice.
This will be my attempt at fluff and silliness. Thank you.
"I'm sorry I threw up on your shirt," Dennis said, lightly kicking his feet from his spot on the countertop where Robby had deposited him.
"It's fine," Robby replied as he hung his shirt over the back of one of the dining chairs to dry after washing it in the sink, now standing there with his tiddies out looking over at Dennis. "I probably deserved it."
Dennis was too nauseous to laugh. He rubbed at his mouth again. Despite the fact there was no spit or puke left behind, he could still taste it and it made him feel ever sicker.
"If you're gonna puke again, lean over the sink," Robby said, crossing his arms awkwardly over his bare chest. Sober Dennis would have been going nuts over that hairy belly.
Drunk Dennis, though, leaned backwards, laying his head against the cabinet door. "I still have your jersey if you need something to wear home."
"I'll stay for a while," Robby replied.
"Are you still mad at me?"
Robby frowned at him. "Dennis, I was never mad at you."
"Then why did you yell at me?" he asked again.
"I... I don't know. Just because?" Robby said. He sighed and looked down. "You were there. I wanted to lash out. So I did. I know it's not fair. You don't have to tell me."
"What did that Kat lady say that made you so pissed?"
Robby laughed at that. But he had tears in his eyes when he looked up again. "I don't wanna talk about it right now. Please, can we not?"
Dennis nodded, turning to stare over at the wall. His head pounded as his thoughts were flooded with the worst possible scenarios. Maybe she was his wife. Dana called her honey, so maybe she was young. A secret daughter? Or an oncologist telling Robby he only had weeks to live. Or some higher-up from the hospital saying it was getting shut down.
It had to be something crazy, right? Why else would Robby freak out the way he did? Why else would he be ready to cry over it?
"Alright, come here," Robby said after a while, reaching his arms out.
Dennis let Robby pick him up off the counter and set him down, and he was finally able to stand up without swaying like a tree in the wind.
"You need to get some sleep," Robby said, his hands lingering on Dennis' waist. "Come on, pup. I'll tuck you in."
Dennis opened his mouth to argue, but then his brain caught up to his ears and Robby calling him pup was like a gunshot to the head.
He blushed and nodded, letting Robby take his hand and lead him to his bedroom.
Dennis was already in sweats and a hoodie, since he had gotten comfortable before he started getting drunk, so all he had to do was climb into bed. Robby put the blanket over him and sat by his feet. He sat still for a while, looking like he had no intention of getting up to leave.
"Are you okay?" Dennis asked as he snuggled his head up on his pillows.
Robby rubbed his neck and rolled his shoulders. "I should be. But I don't know if I really am."
"You don't wanna tell me what happened?"
Robby sighed before putting on a smile. "Don't worry about it right now. Just try and get some rest, okay?"
"Do you wanna stay?"
Robby gave him a surprised and somewhat perplexed look.
"You seem really sad," Dennis said quietly. "If you don't wanna be alone, you can stay."
"You're not upset with me?" Robby asked.
Dennis shook his head and patted the spot next to him on the bed.
Robby stood and walked around to the other side to climb under the covers, having to curl up to fit. Dennis turned over to look up at Robby.
Robby reached around behind him and pulled the teddy bear out from under his torso, looking at it for a second before pressing it to Dennis' head with a smoochy sound.
Dennis giggled and took the bear from him, doing it right back, but placing its kiss on Robby's lips instead.
"Puppy, please. Not in front of Dennis..." Robby joked, shoving the bear away dramatically.
Dennis laughed. "You're such a dork."
"So are you," Robby smiled softly, wrapping his arms around Dennis' waist and laying his head down, snuggling him close. He sighed contentedly. "I didn't realize how much I needed this..."
"Needed what?" Dennis asked. He almost laughed, suggesting, "Me?"
But Robby just let out another breath and said, "Yeah."

Omega Dennis shares his heat with Alpha Robby who at the time was in a sudden rut. This ultimately ends with Dennis getting pregnant. Dennis doesn't tell Robby that he is the father as he doesn't want to risk both their jobs. So, he tries to raise baby on his own for a year or two until Robby finds out after seeing a picture on Dennis's phone by accident.
Important facts:
Robby has a type of hyposmia which makes it impossible to smell alpha's and omega's scents. It makes him a better doctor because of it. He isn't affected by sudden heats or pheromones. He couldn't smell Dennis's pregnancy and only found out after he was already showing. He also wasn't able to sense that the baby shared half of his scent.
During ruts that have been surpressed for a long time, Alphas become so overwhelmed they just follow their inhibitions, not recalling what happened during their shared time with any second gender. He didn't think the child could be his since he didn't remember his rut at all. He had no clue he shared it with Dennis.
Pretty old drawings, but superman and this random mermaid adopt a wounded seal. And fight each other to gain custody, eventually deciding that co parenting is easier.
