America needs a Ramen Noodle Budget?

Hello. Just saw a quick commercial about the Obama 'cracking down' on both parties about the budget. Admitting he is ready to take the heat from his own party as well as the citizens of this country.

- Here is why I understand and like this particular approach:

In in your life, when shit hits the fan or your world changes to a point where it affects you financially, you as an individual go into budget mode. It is cutting out the non necessities of your life. You suddenly cut out those night outs drinking and settle for a case at home. Cutting down on eating out, that extra eighth of weed, maybe even your cable...leaving only internet for your casual streaming and headline consumption. You also should begin considering increasing your Ramen Noodle consumption. While yes, they are a sodium overload and probably increase the chances of drying up your organs...but who cares! At 35 cents a pouch you certainly are living well within this new budget of yours. Because eventually, if you stick to the budget and suffer through the 'dip' in your life, you can make it back to a comfortable position where you can again 'spend' as you please

...now to the point:

I feel like this is exactly what is being proposed to america. If everyone cannot win...then it seems only fair that everyone should be expected to lose something. This proposal is exactly what we would to to our self on an individual basis. Everyone cutting back and sacrificing something for the greater cause. The great cause being not only my life and life standards...but equally important the lives of my neighbors and neighbors neighbors, my family, my friends...everyone.

We have been fortunate enough as Americans in this current generation to have seen the fruits of our past generations blossom into what is our 'near limitless lifestyle.' As I am writing this on my HP laptop while drinking 3$ coffee and watching a flat screen TV while remotely logged into my desktop back home. God Bless America! However we have been too far removed from needing to sacrifice something that we hate the idea and refuse it as a viable option. Our grandparents sacrificed many many times over what we could ever imagine today. We should thank them for that.

I like the idea that Obama is asking for us to sacrifice in this time. While I know there are many parts to this bill that I might not understand. Or that I might not even know about. But from what I gather over the past few months of headlines over the severity of the debt and budget and all...we need to agree on something that will start working...and not just another clever delay. America needs to consider its own version of a 'Ramen Noodle Budget.' We need to realistically be able to cut things out. It sucks...it really sucks. But life is hard, and I feel like the masses forget that. Hell I forget that. Constantly. My struggle is a little bitch comparatively.
