❝My dearest Damien could go on for days. He doesn’t know when to relax! Yes, let us stop there for the night.❞
The Plegian cooed to her black pegasus, leaning forward as she ran her slim fingers through his beautifully brushed mane. Aversa nurtured her stead as if it was her own beloved child. Shouldn’t all riders have the same attitude? Besides, horses were put under large amounts of pressure to preform and be a loyal companions during campaigns.
❝It would be far too dangerous to move on without the sunlight. Naughty thieves love to mug innocent travelers once the moon is up. I would send them directly to a dirt nap if they DARE got in our way, but I feel as if big brother wants to avoid trouble in the first place.❞
The silver-haired mused out-loud. Robin was a man of peace above all else. He would attempt to negotiate with the worst of the worst before having to result in fighting. That was, in fact, the very technique he used with the sorceress when they were on opposing sides.
Honestly? She admired him in places where she herself fell flat.

“I don’t know about having that kind of stamina, but I know my boy here refuses to let himself fall behind, even if he’s past exhaustion.” Robin patted the side of his stallion’s neck, earning a short whinny from the mount. “We’ll be coming up on it at this pact in about ten minutes. Looks like the river breaks off into a creek; we’ll follow that inward.”
A small smile came to Robin’s face as he saw how Aversa motherly tended to her pegasus, holding back a small chuckle. Indeed, he shared belief that a rider should cherish their horse as companion, but Prometheus was more like a partner, really!
Still, it was a side Robin was glad to know existed of her. Wonder how she’d be with an actual child? ...Huh. Why’d he think of Morgan just now?
“You’ve got a habit of thinking out loud, there.” Robin called over to her, her aloud thoughts muttered clearly enough for him to pick up. “Don’t get me wrong, I’m flattered you’re taking this protection racket to heart, but any deaths of our cause here, bandits or otherwise, could be used to incite aggression from the Plegian masses. Let’s just try to avoid trouble until we’ve returned home, at least...”
Hello! Like/reblog if you’d like to interact with a still rather new Corrin/Kamui (MU) blog from Fire Emblem Fates! Mun is not new to the fandom, however.
Default verse: Revelation Willing to do Conquest and Birthright as well! Cross-overs and OCs welcomed~
Thank you, and I hope you enjoy your day!

“Shut up, me, think about Morgan’s caps. We want her to cut down armies in a single stroke or we’ve failed as a father--”

“If I asked nicely, could we…?”
Robin smiles softly, closing the gap between them.
“Oh, Lucina...”
He wraps his arms around the small of her back. His face drifts ever-closer, lips inching ever-so-near to hers, with the promise of one sweet taste--!
“We’re still at B rank~.”

❝There’s no need for thanks. They would be fools to strike ME. I still surprisingly have their trust despite not living in Plegia anymore. I may have planned some rather nasty strategies, but still they respected me for that. Now, If I was that idiot Gangrel…I cannot say this deal would have made it even to the front door.❞
She chuckled at the thought of her former superior. The Mad King certainly was a hoot, but also a nutcase. It kept her on her toes, most defiantly. Aversa never could complain about his leadership. In fact, she preferred to work under those who can fly off the hinge. It gave her a sense of intellect and power, for usually she is the one with the cool head.
That has changed now. Most of her comrades weren’t known for killing anyone at the flip of a switch. It was a new, healthier environment for the sorceress. It would take time to adjust.
❝For the love of Naga, will you PLEASE stop fooling with that map already? I know where we are! On the right track for Ylisse, exactly! I have taken this beaten path many times. No one will bother us out here.❞
The silver-haired woman leaned over and snatched the piece of paper away from Robin. She would snap if she heard the map crinkle one more time in his grips. Aversa was sure a child could read a travel guide much better than he. How pitiful! He should be kissing her feet for being so watchful over him during this trip.

“--Ah?” Robin blinked in surprise, squeezing his hands in empty air an instant before his mind caught up to what happened. “H-Hey--!”
Indeed, she’d just swiped the map right out of his hands! Robin motioned as if he was going to make to grab it back, but seeing as her mount could fly and her reach was a touch longer, the Grandmaster merely sighed in discontent, head hanging.
“I suppose...” He casts his gaze off to the side. “Just-- do be careful, alright? I borrowed that map from Frederick...”
The two now passed over the outskirts of a ravine bordering a surprisingly-intact river, The flow heading in eastward from the distant coastline. Well, he supposed, when they needed to settle down to make camp, it’d be best to keep an eye open for signs of manmade paths leading down to the body of water.
So far, things had been going quite well, and not just the negotiations. The first leg of the journey had been fairly awkward, with Aversa remaining her typical distant self and Robin trying at several attempts at small talk. Thankfully, however, she soon opened up into her usual mischievous, teasing self they knew and loved, more or less. And with not much to poke fun at Robin over, the two just...talked.
It’d been real. And it was something that honestly satisfied Robin to have done thus far.
“How’s your mount holding up?” He called over to her. “I recall a forested area near the mountains up ahead. It made for a good campsite first time here; we should probably see if we can’t get there before nightfall!”

That all went surprisingly well. Although the two greatest minds in the Shepards were the ones to negotiate with the newly appointed Plegian government, she never expected it to go all according to plan. Usually, there was something out of place or a misstep. Not judging the situation entirely correct. Not this time. Perhaps two is better than one when it comes to strategy? This has to be the first time working with someone else actually left Aversa with satisfaction.
The two were now on their respected horses. Of course, the dark sorceress rode her darling black pegasus named Damien. She would never leave without him. Who would want to walk miles in high heels anyhow? Aversa glanced over to watch Robi;, him observing a map very closely. Her ‘big borther’ must be making sure they do not get lost. How silly. She knew Plegia blindfolded.
❝You do not have to fret so much. The worry is over now. I think it went swimmingly, love.❞
╰♟╮
Indeed, for all his skill in mapping the course of an oncoming struggle on the battlefield, Robin seemed to have some unusual trouble when it came to managing a travel map.
“Y-Yes, it did... Better than I would’ve expected, actually.” He turned the map upside-down, as though that was actually going to help somehow. “Now all we have to do is find our way home, and we can call this trip a success, ahaha...”
Hills and valleys crossed beneath the hooves of their respective steeds, putting the high structures of the Plegian Castle far, far into the horizon behind them. Robin’s own trusty hazelnut steed, rode by him ever since the beginnings of the war he headed, Prometheus, kept on at a steady gallop slightly ahead of the pegasi’s wings. The trip up had been surprisingly simple: a few day’s time had put them at the entryway to the capital, and Aversa’s face alone had gotten them entry.
Just this morning, and well into the early afternoon, the two had been pitted against the Plegian government, who were in no way whatsoever interested in hearing Robin out alone, but as predicted, the presence of the former mistress of their entire kingdom kept close calls to a minimum.
“I have to admit, for a moment there, I thought the Secretary of State was going to upend the table and pull his sword on me when I denied them uncharted back channels into Ylisstol...” Robin shoots Aversa a warm smile. “I owe you one for putting yourself in the forefront when you did. Thanks, really.”
