We talk about The Tale and sexual violence on screen. Despite the disturbing events of The Tale, it's an incredible, engaging story and well-made film. So, what makes this film, containing rape scenes, an "important" movie to see while other movies with scenes of sexual violence and/or violence seem gratuitous, indulgent, or just plain sick? There's no definitive answer, but we can discuss the implications of it all. đ: iTunes | Google | Podbean | Profile link #podcast #thetale #lauradern #jenniferfox @lauradern #moviereview #moviepodcast #filmpodcast
đđ» THE TALE đđ» Hi, this movie is about sexual assault and rape of a minor. It made me angry, uncomfortable, infuriated, and sad. It is a very good movie. Despite the disturbing nature of major events within, the use of memory, story telling, recollection and how that changes as you age, as you look at your own past differently, and the memories of other people involved... The storytelling methods used make this tale unforgettable. After the movie, my friend said âThat was horrifying. Thank you for ruining my life.â Youâre welcome. This film deserves to be seen. âïžâïžâïžâïž.5/5 đ©đ„: Writer & Director Jennifer Fox (based on her own recollections) -Tish #moviereview #womeninfilm #thetale @evefilmfest
-We need the people in these two seats right here to make out. -What do they look like?
This is my bisexuality.
this pride month i want to give a special shoutout to those women (including trans and nb women) who are engaged in the never-ending âam i bi or a lesbianâ debate with themselves, because i feel like we donât talk about these women who are struggling nearly as much as we should. this questioning process really sucks, and once you start asking yourself that question it never really goes away. it can be super isolating to be a questioning woman who doesnât know if she is bi or a lesbian, even in environments like tumblr where it is possible to surround ourselves with other wlw. the amount of things we worry about even in these communities are literally endlessâwhether reblogging posts about lesbian-specific or bi-specific experiences is a form of deception, whether we should re-come out to the people weâre already âoutâ to (or how to really come out at all), how much comphet is affecting us and how to let it go, etc. constantly questioning where we belong within the lgbt community is one of the most difficult things to deal with in the self-realization and coming out process, and i want all my questioning women out there to know that itâs okay if you donât know exactly who you are right now. itâs okay if you want to define yourself solely by your attraction to women or disregard your attraction to men. weâve all been in that spot at some point, and i wish you all luck on your journeys of becoming who you are, whether that is as a lesbian, a bi woman, or really anything else.
someone: oh youâre bi! but if you had to choose would you choose boy or girl?
me: um donât be ignorant thatâs not how bisexuality works tf
me, internally, without hesitation: girls
gomez and morticia addams are the only straight rich couple i trust everyone else is on thin fucking ice
I defy you to prove to me that either one is straight.
there aint a human on this earth that gomez wouldnât think about fucking and involuntarily yell âEXTRAORDINARY! absolutely singular!â after. Heâs just hear to party.
and you know morticia didnât have a lesbian college experience she had THE GIRL ON GIRL TOUR OF THE CENTURY just to ruin some sororities.
me before realizing i was gay: everything i do is for myself. i put on makeup for myself, i wear sexy clothes for myself, i dont do anything for men or for anyone else
me now, having realized iâm gay: i literally get up every day just for women. i make myself look presentable for women only. i have my tits out for women. please stare at my titties
