eddie has no memory of him because the reset wiped those experiences away. he doesn’t know why he’s suddenly calling you livewire or being a lot more flirty, it’s not like him. and he remembers flashes of his old life sometimes, before you—a gentle laugh, bright cyan blue eyes, elegant hands wrapped around his as a tall, white-haired man pulls him into a dance. spitfire, livewire—voltage? is that what he’s forgetting? but the name doesn’t come to him, and the memories wisp away.
he gets headaches a lot, says stuff he wouldn’t normally say. like there’s some buried part of him trying to escape. and there’s something pulling at the edge of his mind, something he’s forgotten, but it’s faint, hard to grasp. it’s messing with him. and as loving of a partner that you are, you always startle when he asks you about that man. mood darkening, eyes shifting and never really looking directly at him.
there’s something you’re not telling him. “you don’t need to worry about it,” you tell him. “you’re here. that’s what matters.” and he is here, he feels amazing—better than he’s ever been—but you’re being secretive, and he’s worried.
eddie doesn’t like that you’re not telling him. he knows that there’s something you’re keeping secret, and if you won’t tell him, then he’ll have to figure it out himself.
(then maybe he works with some other objects to remember volt and then try to bring him back but he has to be careful because he doesn’t want you to worry. basically a sort of inverse of the game storyline.)
