tbh I loved the mix of like, late 1800s early 1900s russian fashion and very specifically dated early 2000s goth/rivethead fashion in classic hd it was really beautiful... if they wanted to update it they could have everyone wearing 2020s goth fashion combined with it... but alas they just removed the 2000s goth stuff #killingmyself

#tbf rubin is unarguably the worst victim of the pathologic outfits degothification not daniil. but still

I'm back just to say this is another horrifying step of daniil degothification that eyeshadow makes him look like he listens to my chemical romance

okay idk if people are misinterpreting this and thinking 'new rock' means like general modern rock music or whatever 😭. It's a specific shoe brand (which tbh I personally hate because I think they look really bad but whatever) which is probably the most popular among goth and industrial people who are very serious about it and into 90/2000s stuff (everyone who's like I would not wear demonias obviously new rocks are the true goth and industrial shoes) and he's literally wearing them in the concept art.

#daniil dankovsky's new rock boots are eternally funny to me. they did NOT make those in 1910!

#yeah I know people can listen to multiple genres I simply do not think that the character whose whole thing is modernity is going to be very #openly extremely into classical music. you are all going 'wow this person is wearing a 1910s outfit in the 1910s... clearly this means he's #intrinsically the type of person who likes 1910s aesthetics'#AND he literally has new rock boots.

spending 45 minutes scrolling through posts when I really do not have the time for that and need to do something else immediately and finally seeing a post saying a character who DEFINITELY has the pretentious gothindustrial listeners temperament would be listening to something else and I get so angry and scared I have to close the computer and reorganise my stupid hiking pack

Doing serious scientific illustration is so funny... I want to draw the character having the worst time ever but alas I have a beetle due soon

Tbh I find those steam reviews/certain youtuber's comments etc. that go on about 'ACTUALLY pathologic is NOT FUN that's the point' kind of silly and it's a bit annoying it seems to have become a widely accepted thing - I found it really fun actually! Maybe if you hate the mechanics and everything of a game that's actually a thing about your computer game preferences not like, some inherent truth about the game
