Thank you for that fine forensic analysis, Mr. Bodine. Of course the experience of it was... Somewhat different.

Kate Winslet as Rose DeWitt Bukater in TITANIC (1997)
There was this myth, I think, that was created by the media that the films entire success was based on 14-year-old girls going back to see it over and over again because they were in love with Leo. Certainly, that was a factor. But I also think they missed a critical point, which is teenage girls love the movie because it was about them. And they related to Rose. — James Cameron (Director)
So when I decided to write the book on it and I went to see the movie again, there were two teenage girls sitting behind me and they were weeping. And I said, "How often have you seen this film?" And they said, "Oh maybe six or seven times." And I said, "Why do you love this film so much that you keep seeing it?" They said the payoff in the movie for them was seeing those photographs at the end. It was seeing this old woman who had been the young woman and that she had lived a rich and really full life. And that she had survived all these troubles and had made something of herself. And that was so inspiring.

Titanic (1997) dir.: James Cameron
The RMS Titanic carried more than just human passengers; it also had twelve canine companions on board. Among them were a variety of breeds, including a French Bulldog, a Pekingese, a Fox Terrier, two Pomeranians, and a Great Dane. These dogs were a testament to the wealth and status of some passengers, but their fate on that fateful voyage was as tragic as the ship’s.
As the Titanic met its end, the chaos and confusion of the sinking ship left many to face unimaginable choices. In the scramble to safety, only three of the twelve dogs survived: a Pekingese and two Pomeranians. These smaller breeds were more easily hidden and were likely smuggled onto the lifeboats, providing them with a rare chance of survival.
Among the tragic stories from that night is that of Elizabeth Isham, a 50-year-old passenger whose loyalty to her Great Dane exemplified profound devotion. As the Titanic sank, Isham was informed that her Great Dane was too large to be accommodated on the lifeboats. Faced with this heartbreaking decision, she chose to remain with her dog rather than abandon him.
Elizabeth Isham’s body was discovered days after the ship's sinking, still clinging to her beloved Great Dane.

APRIL 10-11th 1912 - TITANIC SETS SAIL
Shortly after 12.00 noon, Titanic sets sail from Southampton, beginning her maiden voyage, and heading first for Cherbourg in Normandy, north-western France. Titanic arrives in Cherbourg, with the tender ships SS Nomadic and SS Traffic reaching the ship – anchored in the outer harbour – at 6.35pm. With the newly embarking passengers safely transferred from the tender ships to Titanic (142 1st Class, 30 2nd Class and 102 3rd Class), and with a smaller number disembarking (15 1st Class and 9 2nd Class), at around 8.10pm the ship leaves Cherbourg, headed for Queenstown on the south coast of County Cork, Ireland. At 11.30am, Titanic drops anchor at Roches Point outer anchorage, in Queenstown, County Cork – her final port of call on the maiden journey to New York. With the tender ships PS Ireland and PS America having transported the 123 passengers joining at Queenstown (7 2nd Class and 113 3rd Class) and collecting 7 passengers who were disembarking, at 1.30pm Titanic raises anchor and sets off to cross the Atlantic for America.

"C.Q.D. Help! Help! We are sinking." The RMS Titanic sank in the early morning hours of 15 April 1912 in the North Atlantic Ocean, four days into her maiden voyage from Southampton to New York City 14th-15th April 1912
At 11:40 pm on 14 April, lookout Frederick Fleet spotted an iceberg immediately ahead of Titanic and alerted the bridge. First Officer William Murdoch ordered the ship to be steered around the obstacle and the engines to be reversed, but it was too late; the starboard side of Titanic struck the iceberg, creating a series of holes below the waterline.
The hull was not punctured by the iceberg, but rather dented such that the hull's seams buckled and separated, allowing water to rush in. Five of the ship's watertight compartments were breached. It soon became clear that the ship was doomed, as she could not survive more than four compartments being flooded.
Titanic began sinking bow-first, with water spilling from compartment to compartment as her angle in the water became steeper. Between 2:10 and 2:15 a.m., a little over two and a half hours after Titanic struck the iceberg, her rate of sinking suddenly increased as the boat deck dipped underwater, and the sea poured in through open hatches and grates. As her unsupported stern rose out of the water, exposing the propellers, the ship broke in two main pieces between the second and third funnels, due to the immense forces on the keel. With the bow underwater, and air trapped in the stern, the stern remained afloat and buoyant for a few minutes longer, rising to a nearly vertical angle with hundreds of people still clinging to it, before foundering at 2:20 am.
