Never thought I'd find one of these out in the wild, and in such complete and immaculate condition! The Tokima Steam Head robot watch with metal strap, released in 1998, could be seen as the successor of the then-ubiquitous but now equally rare Takara Kronoform watch (as seen on Madonna's wrist in the background). These things go for well over US$100 on eBay, for even just the watch with only a resin strap, but I got this including its original box, display case, and instructions for just a quarter of that! I used to want the bronze-colored version but I changed my mind when I played around with this silver one. After 35 years, I finally got to complete G1 Bruticus! It's fun to finally be able to play around with his "Scramble City" gimmick that allows you to interchange his limbs. I remember, as a kid, I pointed to Onslaught at SM Makati because I saw that he was a truck. I didn't know who he and the Combaticons were at the time, but I wanted him because he was the next best thing to Optimus Prime. When I came home and opened up his box, I was surprised to find additional parts and instructions for how to combine him with other robots to form Bruticus. It blew my mind! I had long hoped to complete the set but (like most kids, I guess) never got to. This amazingly detailed miniature replica of NASA's Space Shuttle Columbia is all sorts of amazing! Just got this #ToyBiz #XMen #Archangel figure, loose but complete and at a really good price. Really cool and unique missile firing gimmick that uses plastic sheet springs instead of the usual coiled wires. Lots of articulation, but somehow difficult to put into a "heroic" pose. Most of the figures in my collection are robots and samurai, but there are a handful that are basically "flying" figures. "You lookin' at me, punk?" #TransformersGenerations Legends-class Cosmos has amazing articulation for such a small figure! He even has a waist swivel. The only things he doesn't have (but I could live without) are ankle tilt and wrist swivel. A ROOM WITH A VIEW Like many 80s kids, I grew up watching (and loving) Macross. But unlike most kids, who gravitated towards the show's Valkyrie fighter robots, I fell in love with the absolute unit of a chonk that was the SDF-1 mothership. I would sit right here in our sala and look out our sliding glass windows, pretending I was on the bridge of the SDF-1. There's even an option to turn the Mister Fusion attachment into a watch, with the Hill Valley clock face on it.
