This is heartbreaking
Youâre allowed to have a bad day. Sometimes a bad week, a bad month, even a bad long season.
Just donât let it say everything about you. A bad day is not you.
â J
Really needed to hear this @_@Â
Been feeling so lonely and hurt. For many months now, I've felt like I've been drifting away from everyone. No matter how much I see my friends, the distance just seems to keep growing. I've been spending most of my time alone in my room. Friends always say they're busy when I try to make some plans but they're always doing things together. Even when I attempt to talk to one of my Christian friends or even my leader. It's really hard to ask one of them to meet me, especially about this but I always just get a response of "I'll pray for you." Which is a good thing but after hearing it so much, it's starting to feel so empty. Sometimes when I message people, I don't even get a response at all which hurts even more. It makes me feel worse that pretty much the only people I've been talking with lately are online friends.Â
This is something I've been praying about for so long but I didn't think I'd be in this situation now. I quit my job recently because the way my boss talks to me, I don't think I'd be able to bear it. I told him that I needed some time to focus on my studies and take care of my mental health which wasn't a lie but he is friends with my parents and told my dad about it. My mum later on asked me if I was depressed. At the time when I received the message from her, I was in tears because of an argument I had with my housemate but I lied to her. I feel so terrible to lie to my parents but I know that if I tell them the truth, they'll just blame themselves and each other and that scares me.Â
This is especially hard at night. So many thoughts coming into my head and many things I don't want to remember. Seeing how difficult this situation is getting, it makes me want to just keep praying about this more. I've been like this for such a long time, I've always felt like I was alone with only God by my side but I know that he has brought people into my life but I don't know how to deal with it. That's why I need to keep praying.Â
I really just needed to vent this all out.Â
Especially lately, I've been having so many thoughts about the future. I don't know where I'll go or what I'll do but I keep making myself promise and remember that no matter what or where I end up in the future, I have to keep my faith. I feel a lot better about the future knowing that I'll always have God.Â
Until then, I need to keep praying in faith.Â
14 Ways To Handle A Christian Introvert
If you ever met me, you would think I was an extrovert â I preach, I lead praise, I talk to everyone, I talk too much, and you can hear me laughing from across the street â but I am a full-blooded introvert.
If it were up to me, Iâd rather be in my boxers all day eating Godiva while browsing food photo blogs and bothering my dog and cracking up at YouTube videos of Whose Line Is It Anyway and leaving dry ironic comments all over Facebook while reading the latest theory on how Sherlock survived the second season finale.
I intensely guard my personal space and my private life. It takes a herculean effort to step outside my comfort zone and interact with messy, fleshy, real live human beings.
Hereâs how you handle us.
1) In a small group or Bible study or cell meeting, do NOT make us talk.
Introverts are much more methodical and tend to process things. In a group discussion, our silence doesnât mean weâre not listening. Weâre just trying to fit the pieces together in our own head. We aim to be thoughtful and deliberate. Please be sensitive to our secret mind palace. Weâll talk when we dang well feel like it.
2) We just donât sing like the front row.
Itâs great that extroverts can freely express themselves during worship time. But introverts sometimes just read the lyrics, connect inwardly, and keep their hands inside the vehicle. If you see us raising even one hand and singing a few words, we are seriously pushing the gas pedal all the way to the floor.
3) Do not ever rebuke us in public.
Or you and I are done. Forever. You should never do this anyway.
4) Extroverts: be patient in conversation and donât treat my every word like your personal victory.
Extroverts, itâs okay if you monopolize the conversation. We do like to listen. But please donât treat us like your personal project with a precious pearl inside. And donât try to squeeze out my life story as if youâre trying to save us. Earn trust by being a friend first. Unlike extroverts, weâre not good at being best friends on the first day.
5) Fellow introverts: find us quickly.
See me standing awkwardly on the side of the sanctuary watching everyone else have fun? Hurry up and find me so we can make amusing sarcastic comments about life and possibly grow a lifelong spiritual bond that these extroverts canât understand.
6) We can do anything an extrovert can do.
Iâve seen an entire spectrum of personalities take the âfront stageâ of church. Not every introvert is meant for âbehind the scenes.â Just coach us with extra grace.
7) We get super-tired around a lot of people.
My limit is about four hours, and then I actually get a headache from just hanging around human beings. My Sabbath rest is leave-me-alone-time with my non-judgmental dog. Give us that time without trying to counsel us about it.
8) Donât be offended if we donât reply right away.
Sometimes when we see a Facebook invite to that next big church event, we just let it sit there and think about it periodically throughout the week and then come back to it before committing. We do the same thing with text messages, emails, phone calls, and you showing up at the door.
9) Donât be offended if you see me being extra talkative or friendly with someone else.
Sometimes introverts just interact with people in different ways. It doesnât mean we donât like you: it just means we choose to reveal that specific part of us to another pastor, another church buddy, or that cool introvert I just met five minutes ago. You should be cheering us for even opening up at all.
10) Please do NOT bring a lot of attention to us.
Not in the church bulletin, not the church site, not for my birthdays, not for that nice thing I did for the homeless â just please, no spotlight.
11) Sometimes weâre just moody. Itâs not depression or a âspiritual attackâ or âunconfessed sin.â
One word: space. Lots of it.Â
12) We donât always know what to say, but we still care about you.
We use less words and we donât always use them well, but if we chose to spend this time with you, that means we care.
13) When life gets hard, you donât have to say anything. Just be there.
Sometimes we just get totally flustered and want to give up: but thatâs not the time for lectures or theology or super-awesome advice. Bring a movie or something; bake a cake; bring cookies. Be there for the meltdown and weâll eventually ask for the wisdom. We very much treasure your scalpel-like gentleness with us.
14) When we get hyper, we are weird and corny and loud and awkward â so be ready for that and embrace it.
On the third day of a church retreat or when itâs five in the morning at a lock-in, the inner-beast might be unleashed. But itâs not very cool and calculated and witty like an extrovert. Itâs all kinds of nerdy and neurotic with a shaky voice and twitchy flailing, as if weâre learning to use our bodies for the first time: and in a sense, we are.
When that happens, please donât humiliate us. Roll with it, laugh with us, and endure our horrible dance moves and bad impressions.Â
If you do, we are loyal to you for life.
â J.S.
Shout out to people who are still working on being kinder and more compassionate, on overcoming and unlearning the bullshit they were brought up with, on seeing themselves and others though unfiltered lenses, on giving instead of taking, and on knowing when to speak up and when to sit down and listen. You DO get points for trying. Donât give up. Keep going, you beautiful soul.
I have severe depression, I am a believer yet everyone is telling me that I just need to believe a bit stronger and that I just need to have faith. I can't believe that it is all caused by my faith. Am I wrong?
Some of Godâs believers are blind, some are deaf, some canât walk. Yet, they are Godâs children and they can pray, they can have people jump and holler all around them but sometimes God doesnât âhealâ us. The same goes for the mind, depression is not a sin, nor is any mental illness, just like any physical disability. We live in a fallen world, we have sickness all around us, and none of us are exempt from it, itâs not about being whole in this world, because that wonât happen until eternity. Itâs about being Christâs and submitting to Him in all things, so that we may bring about His glory to the world.Depression must be treated, just like any other disability we have. Youâre not weak or need more faith, you are human. Godâs most beloved, and I think that is enough.-T.B. LaBerge
No matter what happens or where I go, I must always keep my faith..

My Utmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers (via breanna-lynn)
John 13:14-17
14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one anotherâs feet. 15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.16 Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17 Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.
In this passage, Jesus sets a really great example of serving His disciples; especially Judas even though he knew that he would be betrayed by him in the near future. This is truly the example of what it means to love our enemies. To me, this always felt a bit hard and I guess it's common among us.Â
I'm so glad that this was a devotional for me recently. When I first did it; I did not completely grasp it but today; I unfortunately had an argument with my housemate. From this; I was able to see how much I had change from a year ago. A year ago in this same scenario, I would have wanted to argue as much as I can until I had won but this time, I had no desire to even be apart of it. As it was happening, I just wanted to be away from it. I'm guessing he was already having a bad day because I had only asked him one question and it wasn't anything to even provoke an argument but it was as if I had flicked a switch and he had suddenly gotten so angry and started screaming a lot. At this point, I was trying to cook my late lunch/dinner because I hadn't been feeling well in the morning so I wasn't able to cook my food until then but after all that started, I couldn't continue it. I just went back to my room and locked the door. At this point, I was in tears and he was even more angry. Anyways, later on, he went to go and talk to one of the church leaders so hopefully he feels better now.
I on the other hand, stayed in my room for a while until he left and then I went out for a walk and went to a restaurant to get a meal. Afterwards, I sat somewhere outside, alone and tried to have some quiet time with God while reflecting on the situation. It was very hard at that moment. I was still on the verge of crying but I really wanted to find the solution for this through God and really rely on Him as well. I know that at this time just after having an argument; satan really tries to tempt me in my thoughts to think negative thoughts about my housemate but through this devotional, I was able to easily overcome all of those thoughts. I remembered that Jesus was able to humbly serve someone that he knew would eventually betray him and take part in getting him crucified.Â
I know that my situation is no where near as severe but through this situation, I really learned how important it is to love and pray for those who are against you and persecute you as well as holding onto God the entire way. Even if I am currently having problems with my housemate. I know God wouldn't let me go through something I can't handle and through this, I will grow as a person and grow in faith and learn to love. I just know that I really need to hold onto God and pray and remember His word.Â
Iâm here for you guys if you need anything but help with math
God does so many things for us daily, but we seem to only acknowledge a few of them. Like, stop focusing on that shooting star you saw that one time. Realize that He fills the sky with stars every night.
So Iâm meant to pay the rent today but I still havenât gotten the rent money from my Housemate. I know itâs coming, but rent is due TODAY! and I literally cannot afford to pay it. Iâm stressing out. What do i do? Should I call my landlord? Just let it go and pay when I can?
She told me her mum has transferred it, itâs more just waiting for the bank to clear it. Which I was hoping would have happened today so I can make a direct deposit to my landlord, but that hasnât happened yet. So I think theyâll call me if they get concerned. the money is there, just canât do anything with it just yet.
Oh, that's a bit difficult. i've been in a little similar situation before. I guess you really need to get your housemate to pay earlier otherwise it could cause problems in the future :/Â
YOU are the only Bible some people will ever read. Christians are walking Epistles, written by God and read by menâ. Be an example.

Such hard decisions
July, during my winter break, I have the plan to go to Japan and Taiwan. I plan to go and live in either Japan, Korea or Taiwan from next year but I want to have visited each of these places and also finding a church within these countries too. I have already visited Korea so these two countries are the last two left. I am having so much trouble deciding on a good date and also committing to the decision and actually buying the plane ticket. I guess I feel a bit nervous about spending the money and committing the date and also travelling alone for the first time. I've been praying for this for a little while but I think I really need to buy the ticket soon before the prices go up more. This decision will be such a difficult one T^T
