"Freebird: The Movie" premiered at The Fox Theatre in Atlanta on December 29th 1995. All of the surviving members were there except for Ed King. Many others were also there including Bob Burns, Donnie Van Zant, Johnny Van Zant, Lacy Van Zant, Judy Van Zant, Melody Van Zant, Ricky Medlocke, Teresa Gaines and Larry Junstrum. It was surreal watching the original band on a big screen inside The Fox Theatre where they had recorded "One More From the Road" back in July of 1976!! 🎸

Buddy Guy: When they slipped Stevie up there behind me. I’m like, “Wait a minute, man. Who the hell is this?” He was hitting them notes and made me feel like I should go in the audience and watch so I could learn something ’cause he had that Albert King tone and attack. I was just thinking, “I gotta know who this guy is.” I really couldn’t believe what I was hearing.Stevie Ray Vaughan and Buddy Guy, 1983 by Ebet Roberts
