@tliri
it kills me to do this since I put so much research into T'Liri, but I'm going to put her on hiatus. I rebooted her and got absolutely no response, so I have to assume people just aren't interested.
“I apologise, this information has only just come to light. The ground team have discovered that the technology appears to be everywhere. A main power course is still being determined. The technology is in the very soil of the planet, the trees and the air. It is most extraordinary.”
( he returns to the PADD in his hand, checking over the most recent reports from the ground team )
“It appears as though the main power source has been located. Ambassador, would you wish to accompany me down to the planet?”
❝ Affirmative, Commander. Do you believe the native species to be in danger? ❞
"Lead the way, Ambassador."
❝ My quarters are located on the Officer's deck.      May I enquire as to the temperature setting you use for your own quarters?       I have not been able to find a comfortable setting for my own room. ❞
”Yes, of course, T’liri. What may I assist you with?”
âťť I would like your opinion on some...information I have become aware of. It concerns something being researched at the New Vulcan Science Academy. While it is sensitive information, I would like to ask you for your opinion on the matter.
It has become apparent that they are attempting to replicate red matter. ❞

T'Liri could see the logic in regular medical check ups for the crew-members. It would prevent any unknown diseases from spreading too fast if decontamination procedures missed it, and was beneficial for the ship as a whole. She had not however, predicted that she would also be subject to such examinations. As she was not part of the crew, she had not expected that she would be called upon to Sickbay unless there was an obvious need. As she was to be on the ship for the majority of the five year mission, she realised that it was only logical to do so.
Punctual as always, she arrived at Sickbay at the precise time at which she had been summoned, knocking on the door to Doctor McCoy's office. She objected to the invasion of her privacy, but there was no arguing with the reasoning behind it.Â
"five years in space, god help me."
"I know the perfect place — it’s an old dance studio down the street."Â
❝ Lead the way.      I do hope you have found some shoes with a slightly more practical heel for me to walk in after last time. ❞
"This was the conclusion I initially drew, Ambassador. However it has been brought to my attention that - though the race are primitive and indigenous - their very existence is in fact being controlled by technology far more advanced than even our own."
( spock arched an eyebrow and indicated the scanner in his hand )
"This technology, wherever it has come from, controls their climate. It controls what food is grown. Whilst the Prime Directive prohibits Starfleet personnel from interfering with the internal development of alien civilizations, I believe this technology has already interfered, and by removing it we are returning the species to their original and natural evolution.”
❝ In which case, I concur with your conclusion. It is the same one I would have made, if I had been privy to the data you just shared with me. âťžÂ
( while she is almost certain it was not kept from her on purpose, the fact that she was not alerted to such important data immediately is...disconcerting for her. She forgets sometimes, that she is an Ambassador and not a science officer. It is not a pleasant feeling )
"On the contrary, Ambassador, whilst the indigenous species are - for a better term - happy, they are not progressing as a species."
❝ And yet, to interfere would be a clear violation of the Prime Directive. While I agree that if they do not progress, they are in danger of extinction, Starfleet expressly forbids attempting to change the fate of a species, especially one as primitive as this. ❞
"I would find that  - acceptable."
âťť ...very well. Â Â Â Â Please, follow me, Commander. âťž
“I never denied you, T’Liri— you’re an exceptional officer. I just-” I care about you and don’t want to see you get hurt. But of course I can’t tell you that. “You’re more than welcome to come with us."Â
âťť My thanks, Captain. Â Â Â Â I shall meet you and the ground team on the transporter pad. âťž
“It is though — gives you a hidden advantage."Â
âťť You are extremely persistent. Â Â Â Â ...Very well. Where would you suggest we go to 'practise'. âťž
“I — uh, you sure you want to go?           I mean, you’re more than welcome, don’t get me wrong.       This mission might get ugly… thought you’d wanna stay clear of it.”
âťť As I understand it, the goals of Starfleet are to discover new life in a variety of forms. While I have no doubt that your science officers are adept, I may be able to provide insight that they could not, due to my time at the Vulcan Science Academy. And I assure you, Captain Kirk, I am more than capable of defending myself. Â âťž
"That is true; thank you.
   - would you care to join me?”
âťť That would be acceptable. Â Â Â If you are not currently engaged, I could brew a pot now. âťž
❝ Mr Spock, I find your conclusion to be highly illogical. ❞
âťť Commander. Â Â Â May I have a moment of your time? âťž
