Slaughtering a Friendship - a curse-ritual for half-closure, half-revenge to mark the end of a bad friendship
You Will Need:
One white candle
One black candle
A poppet/symbol of your ex-friend
A laundry list of things that made the friendship miserable
Gravel or rocks
A box
Step One: Name your poppet and place it on your work space. Say:
[TARGET’S FULL NAME], I will let you go, but not before I am heard.
Step Two: Read your list to the poppet. Make sure you get all of your aggression out. Don’t leave anything unsaid. Say:
I give back all of the problems you piled onto me. May they return to you and stay there.
I give back all of the negativity you placed on my doorstep. May it find its way home and stay there.
I take back the time and energy I spent on you. May I feel energy and happiness again.
I take back all of the money and things I gave/lent to you. May you lose your fortune on the wind.
Step Three: Place your poppet in the box and say, “My parting gift to you, __________, is trouble.” Add the rocks or gravel to the box, saying:
I give you trouble in luck. I give you trouble in love. I give you loss of sleep. I give you loss of prosperity. I give you unhappiness. I give you the strife you gave me. …
List anything you can think of.
Step Four: When the poppet is buried in rocks/gravel, close the box and bury it. Spit on the burial spot.
Step Five: Light the white candle, saying, “I light this candle to cleanse myself and my home of your presence.” Light the black candle, saying, “I light this candle to send you negativity back to you, and to protect me from people like you in the future.”
